Senior Scheduler

Shape the Strategy Behind Dome’s Most Complex Projects

At Dome Construction, a strong schedule is more than a project requirement. It is a strategic tool that helps teams anticipate challenges, make informed decisions, and deliver with greater predictability.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Scheduler to provide advanced planning and scheduling leadership for Dome’s largest, most complex, and highest-risk projects. In this highly collaborative role, you will develop comprehensive project schedules, identify material risks and constraints, and translate complex scheduling information into clear, practical recommendations.

As a technical subject-matter expert, you will partner with Operations, Project Management, Field Operations, Preconstruction, BIM/VDC, trade partners, and clients. You will help align planning assumptions, procurement, coordination milestones, field execution, and critical project commitments while strengthening scheduling knowledge across the organization.

If you are a strategic construction professional who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing project outcomes, and helping teams plan with confidence, this could be the right next step for you.

What You’ll Do

Lead Planning for Complex Projects

  • Lead the development of proposal, preconstruction, baseline, master, milestone, and recovery schedules for large, complex, high-risk, or multiphase projects
  • Establish schedule architecture, calendars, coding structures, work breakdown structures, logic, milestones, and reporting methods
  • Guide teams through planning for design, permitting, procurement, logistics, construction, startup, testing, commissioning, inspections, turnover, and closeout
  • Support pursuit strategy, feasibility analysis, schedule narratives, and client presentations
  • Partner with BIM/VDC to incorporate coordination, fabrication, and model-deliverable milestones into the overall project schedule

Turn Schedule Data into Action

  • Analyze critical and near-critical paths, float trends, milestones, productivity assumptions, and completion forecasts
  • Identify significant constraints, conflicts, and potential delays before they materially affect project outcomes
  • Lead mitigation and recovery planning through what-if analysis, resequencing, acceleration options, contingency planning, and time-impact analysis
  • Partner with project leadership when schedule conditions may create contractual, financial, client, or reputational exposure

Strengthen Project Predictability

  • Oversee schedule updates and validate actual progress, remaining durations, logic changes, milestone dates, and completion forecasts
  • Review schedules across multiple projects for technical quality, consistency, contract compliance, and alignment with Dome standards
  • Conduct schedule-health reviews and verify alignment between the CPM schedule, collaborative planning commitments, procurement and submittal logs, BIM/VDC milestones, and field execution plans

Facilitate, Influence, and Mentor

  • Lead schedule-review meetings, pull-planning and phase-planning sessions, recovery workshops, and executive schedule reviews
  • Present clear forecasts, risks, options, and recommendations to project teams, clients, Operations, and senior leadership
  • Mentor Schedulers and coach Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and other team members on CPM fundamentals and collaborative planning
  • Review the work of less-experienced schedulers and provide practical, constructive technical guidance

Improve How We Plan

  • Develop dashboards, graphics, schedule narratives, variance reports, milestone summaries, and executive forecasts
  • Help establish and maintain Dome’s scheduling standards, templates, quality checks, coding structures, and reporting expectations
  • Lead or participate in post-project schedule reviews and turn lessons learned into practical improvements
  • Create reusable job aids, examples, and training resources
  • Evaluate emerging scheduling methods and technologies in partnership with Operations, Field Operations, Preconstruction, BIM/VDC, and Learning & Development

What You Bring

  • Seven or more years of experience in construction scheduling, project controls, field operations, project management, or a related area
  • Demonstrated success developing and managing schedules for large, complex, high-risk, or technically challenging commercial construction projects
  • Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6
  • Experience with baseline development, schedule updates, critical-path analysis, recovery planning, time-impact analysis, and executive schedule reporting
  • The ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
  • The confidence and communication skills to lead planning discussions with project teams, trade partners, clients, and senior leaders
  • A bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant construction scheduling experience

Even Better If You Have

  • Advanced training in project controls, scheduling, Lean construction, or construction planning
  • A Planning & Scheduling Professional certification or comparable credential
  • Experience overseeing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience facilitating pull-planning, phase-planning, milestone-planning, recovery, and executive schedule-review sessions
  • Experience mentoring schedulers or building scheduling knowledge within project teams
  • Experience with healthcare, life sciences, advanced technology, tenant improvement, ground-up, or other highly phased projects
  • Working knowledge of resource or cost loading, crew logic, Takt or location-based planning, schedule risk analysis, and visual or 4D planning tools

How You’ll Make an Impact

Your expertise will help teams see challenges earlier, evaluate options more clearly, and build realistic paths forward. You will bring structure to complex project conditions, improve the quality of schedule-driven decisions, and help strengthen planning and scheduling practices across Dome.

Although this role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities, the Senior Scheduler is expected to mentor less-experienced schedulers, review their work, and provide technical guidance to project teams.

This position also includes occasional travel to construction sites, Dome office locations, client meetings, planning sessions, training events, and other business-related meetings. Travel will vary based on project assignments, locations, and business needs.

Ready to Help Build What’s Next?

If you see scheduling as a strategic discipline and enjoy helping teams turn complex project conditions into clear, achievable plans, we would love to hear from you.
