About the Role
DoorDash is seeking a talented lawyer with strong experience in industrial relations litigation to join our growing legal team. As part of your role, you will help shape the legal and regulatory framework for a new sector of the economy at a pivotal moment in Australia including by leading DoorDash's role in the implementation of the regulated worker jurisdiction at the Fair Work Commission. You will join the team initially on a 12 month contract.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Set and manage the strategy for DoorDash’s role in the implementation of the regulated worker jurisdiction at the Fair Work Commission.
- Instruct external advisers (including law firms and counsel) and synthesise external input, your own research, and feedback from internal stakeholders to provide practical and actionable guidance to cross-functional partners.
- Partner closely with cross-functional partners including our Strategy & Operations, Legal, and Policy teams.
- Manage any cases that DoorDash is involved in relating to the Fair Work Commission's regulated worker jurisdiction.
- Provide general employment law and industrial relations advice including advising on new employee programs, restructures, disputes, policy and compensation changes.
We’re excited about you because…
- You’re qualified to practice in Australia with 7+ PQE
- You have a background in industrial relations litigation with a reputable law firm and/or as an in-house counsel
- You have experience managing litigation (including advocacy in the Fair Work Commission)
- You have some experience working in the gig economy (helpful but not strictly necessary)
- You’re commercially astute and pragmatic with a strong bias for action, with demonstrated influencing and interpersonal skills
- You have a creative legal mind and a sense of adventure, and you can work in both structured and unstructured environments
- You possess excellent communication skills
- You are willing to travel to Melbourne or Sydney for the hearings
