Marketing Manager, Growth ANZ
About the Team
DoorDash’s mission is to grow and empower local economies. DoorDash connects people with the local businesses they care about, helping grow businesses and the communities that support those businesses. The Growth Marketing team is responsible for deploying our customer acquisition budget (CAC) across all digital and performance marketing channels, with a focus on New Customer growth as their north star goal, working in collaboration with the brand and partnerships team, as well as an award-winning agency village to achieve success.
About the Role
This role sits within the ANZ Marketing team and reports to the Senior Marketing Manager and has 3 direct reports (with a view to expand the team over time). As the leader of the local performance marketing pod, you’ll be responsible for driving acquisition-focused initiatives across Australia and New Zealand, delivering against ambitious business goals including maximising marketing efficiency, improving reach, driving incrementality and optimising conversion across the funnel.
A hands-on paid media expert, you’ll lead the planning, execution, and optimisation of media buys and promotional campaigns to acquire new customers—bringing both strategic insight and executional excellence. A strong understanding of what great performance marketing looks like and a love for building processes is a must for this role.
You’ll combine analytical rigour with creative thinking—translating performance data into actionable insights while developing innovative, audience-first strategies to drive growth in priority markets. You’ll be responsible for building and launching campaigns across a variety of platforms, including Search, Meta, TikTok, Display and Affiliates to name a few.
This is a highly cross-functional role, requiring close collaboration with your digital media agency and the Creative, Analytics, Finance and Martech teams to deliver high-impact, performance-driven campaigns.
Beyond consumer growth, this role also owns the restaurant marketing funnel—driving self-service merchant onboarding and qualified lead generation for restaurants through performance marketing. You’ll support mid-market and enterprise restaurants through the Dish program across paid and performance marketing channels.
You’ll also lead DoorDash ANZ’s innovation and incubator pipeline, including spinning up emerging verticals locally. A current example is the Reservations and Going Out project, which requires local ANZ launch support. Your remit extends to merchant retention and reactivation performance marketing, ensuring a holistic approach to growing the DoorDash ecosystem from both sides of the marketplace.
This is a hybrid role, with 3 days a week in office and 2 days remote, based in either Sydney or Melbourne CBD.
You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…
- Own and build the growth marketing strategy, leading a team of three top performers to execute on DoorDash’s ambitious goals in the ANZ market. You will have the opportunity to shape this role, build your department, and drive the strategy in the direction you believe is best for the business.
- Be part of a truly customer-first business that views performance marketing as a primary lever for growth, not just a line item.
- A clear line of sight on your impact – you’re in charge when it comes to the CAC, CPA, forecasting and marketing mix of your channels. Style it your way to achieve clear KPIs and use your skills in media planning, buying and analysis to make that happen, with plenty of structured tests and learning along the way.
- A growth marketing engine, with messaging and creative that cuts through, featuring the likes of Aldi, KFC, Mcdonalds, Chemist Warehouse, Costco and Dan Murphys.
- Strong collaboration with strategy, ops, partnerships, finance and martech to achieve your goals.
- A meaningful role in an innovative tech company that is a true challenger brand, invested in making waves in ANZ.
- We don’t just want you to manage—we want you to lead and build processes that empower and engage your team of top-performing talent.
- Drive restaurant growth through self-service merchant onboarding and qualified lead generation via performance marketing channels—helping more restaurants discover and join the DoorDash platform.
- Partner with mid-market and enterprise restaurant teams on the Dish program, delivering paid and performance marketing support to help restaurants grow on DoorDash.
- Lead innovation and incubator projects for ANZ, including spinning up the Reservations and Going Out vertical locally—bringing new DoorDash products to market and shaping the future of the platform.
- Own merchant retention and reactivation performance marketing, building campaigns that re-engage lapsed merchants and deepen their commitment to the DoorDash platform.
We’re excited about you because…
- The Growth Mindset: You aren't afraid of ambitious goals. You thrive in a business where performance is measured and celebrated.
- 8+ years of growth marketing experience, including team leadership, forecasting, and planning.
- Direct, hands-on experience managing performance marketing and optimisation (Paid search, Paid Social, Display), either at an agency or in-house.
- Experience using online advertising solutions such as Google Adwords, Facebook Ad Manager, and internal performance dashboards etc.
- Deep familiarity with all digital marketing metrics, including CPL, CPA, CPC, CPM, LTV and ROAS as well as marketing attribution methodologies.
- You don't just execute; you build the case for why we should invest. You are comfortable presenting to leadership and taking accountability for the outcome.
- Strong Excel skills with experience building pivot tables, multi-function formulas and graphs and basic SQL.
- You can translate "performance-speak" into easy-to-digest concepts and work effectively with various stakeholders to achieve unified business goals
