You will also guide and develop analysts through coaching, technical support, and clear performance expectations. The ideal candidate combines analytical depth, strategic judgment, operational discipline, and strong cross functional influence.

Success in this role requires advanced SQL skills, strong business acumen, and demonstrated experience improving forecasting, planning, or operational processes at scale.

Candidates must be based in New York, Seattle, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Tempe and be able to travel based on business needs. Approximately two team onsite trips are expected each year.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will own:

Forecasting Performance and Business Readiness

Lead demand forecasting across designated business lines and workstreams, with accountability for forecast accuracy, assumptions, risks, and recommended actions across planning horizons. End-to-End Workstream Leadership

Serve as the primary Forecasting leader for assigned workstreams. Set priorities, align stakeholders, manage delivery, and make informed tradeoffs based on customer impact, operational risk, financial impact, and team capacity. Translate complex findings into clear recommendations and decision requests for senior leaders.

Strategy, Scale, and Process Improvement

Identify and lead opportunities to improve forecasting methods, planning processes, data quality, systems, and automation. Build scalable solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and decision quality while adapting operating models to the needs of each business line.

Data and Technical Partnership

Partner with Data Science, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and Software Engineering to shape forecasting capabilities. Define requirements for models, metrics, dashboards, datasets, and planning tools, resolve data and pipeline issues, and influence the roadmap for automation and machine learning.

Talent Development and Operating Excellence

Coach analysts across forecasting, analytical problem solving, stakeholder management, and executive communication. Set clear expectations, strengthen accountability, standardize best practices, and help team members expand their judgment, scope, and cross-functional influence.

We’re excited about you because you:

  • You have a Masters Degree in a Quantitative field +4yrs of relevant experience OR a Bachelors in a Quantitative field +6yrs of relevant experience
  • You bring strong experience in forecasting, demand planning, workforce management, operations strategy, business analytics, or a related field, with the ability to connect analytical insights to business decisions.
  • You are highly proficient in SQL and Excel and can build and evaluate dashboards, metrics, models, and analytical tools across platforms such as Tableau, Sigma, Power BI, QuickSight, or Looker.
  • You can translate ambiguous business problems into structured analyses, clear recommendations, and executable plans. You understand how to balance customer experience, operational performance, cost, and scalability.
  • You have led complex, cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through implementation and measurement. You work effectively with Data Science, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Operations, and Finance, and can influence without direct authority.
  • You communicate clearly with individual contributors, cross-functional partners, and senior leaders. You exercise sound judgment, prioritize effectively across competing workstreams, and know when to escalate risks, recommend tradeoffs, or challenge existing processes.
  • You are curious, proactive, and motivated to improve the DoorDash support ecosystem through better decisions, stronger operating mechanisms, and scalable solutions.
