Manager, Compliance Assurance & Automation

San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; New York, NY; United States - Remote

DoorDash is hiring an experienced compliance auditor to help us build a new compliance second-line-of-defense function that will redefine how compliance assurance is done. This high-visibility role will focus on translating regulatory requirements into actionable controls and leveraging automation to prove that they work in practice. You will work closely with legal, product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams to ensure compliance with legal regulatory requirements and internal policies.

About the Role

As a Manager of Compliance Assurance, you will pioneer a new strategy to second-line-of defense and drive DoorDash’s Legal product compliance function to ensure that our processes, frameworks, and controls meet regulatory standards. You will leverage automation to test and monitor controls, conduct audits of compliance programs and policies, and support remediation efforts. This will be a hands-on role in which you will develop scalable compliance approaches and own the compliance register, deliver detailed reporting, and drive continuous improvements in our compliance workflows.

We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to execute at the lowest level of detail while collaborating effectively across teams. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented, and brings creativity and problem-solving skills to compliance challenges.

This role will sit within our newly formed product compliance team, which consists of a diverse group of professionals with a shared passion for providing creative and best-in-class service to our business partners. We go above and beyond to help accelerate and protect the business, and above all else, we value and respect each other as teammates. We’re looking for a team builder who can successfully work across the legal team, as well as the broader company. Join us!

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Provide second-line-of-defense oversight to establish enterprise-wide compliance assurance frameworks and monitoring programs relating to Dasher pay models, pay transparency, deactivations, training, and a host of product related compliance initiatives.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into effective controls and perform testing, monitoring, and documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct compliance assessments and audits to evaluate adherence to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Product, Operations, and other teams to embed compliance requirements into policies and processes.
  • Develop and oversee data collection and validation for compliance reviews and regulatory reporting, driving efficiencies through automation where possible.
  • Build automation to continuously monitor and test that compliance controls operate as intended.
  • Provide detailed reporting and insights that inform leadership and strengthen compliance posture.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You are passionate about using technology and automation to solve compliance challenges.
  • You are execution-focused and can manage compliance reviews and audits end-to-end.
  • You are technically fluent in interpreting regulations and applying them to operational processes.
  • You work autonomously while exercising sound judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proven ability to balance legal risk and business objectives.
  • You have a positive attitude and high EQ. No job is too big or too small!
  • You are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and have prioritized participating in DEI initiatives in past roles.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, audit, risk management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of executing compliance programs in a fast-paced environment, preferably in technology or finance sectors.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience conducting audits, testing controls, and reporting findings.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to align on compliance standards and reporting processes.
  • Demonstrated experience building automated solutions for compliance operations
  • Certifications such as the CIA, CISA, and CRISC or accreditation by industry bodies such as ACAMS in risk management or financial compliance, are preferred but not required.
