About the Role 

As a Senior Claims Analyst  you’ll support claim management initiatives, ensuring our insurance programs align with business growth. You'll assess and mitigate claim handling risks, optimize our risk portfolio, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive compliance and resilience. This role is remote-friendly within the U.S., with a preference for candidates near a DoorDash hub office, reporting to the Senior Manager, Claims Management.

  • Enhance Organizational Resilience – Develop and implement QA frameworks, conduct claim audits, and perform operational assessments to drive quality, compliance, and efficiency across the insurance portfolio. Analyze claims data and KPIs to generate insights, benchmark performance, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Make a Real Impact – Influence and support DoorDash’s claims strategy by aligning initiatives with business priorities and risk objectives.
  • Tackle Complex Challenges – Lead efforts to reduce claim costs through claims initiatives to improve outcomes, and enhance the customer, Dasher, and merchant experience.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement – Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to shape policies, processes, and partnerships that impact DoorDash commercial auto portfolio. 
  • Collaborate with Experts – Partner cross-functionally with Legal, FNOL, Actuarial, Engineering, and Operations teams to align claims initiatives with business strategy. Build and manage strong relationships with external insurance partners to ensure and develop on best-in-class claim handling.
  • Shape Claim Strategy – Act as an internal advocate for claims-related priorities, ensuring stakeholders have the insights needed for informed decision-making.

We’re excited about you because you have…

  • Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certifications like ARM or CPCU are a plus.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in claims management, risk strategy, insurance consulting, or a related field. Proven track record of influencing claims strategy and driving measurable results.
  • Industry Knowledge - Deep understanding of claims processes, litigation prevention and management, SIU practices, and insurance program structures. Experience collaborating across legal, actuarial, engineering, and operational functions.
  • Analytical Skills - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Communication & influence - Strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners. Passion for innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

See below for paid time off details:

  • For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
  • For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.

$82,300 - $121,000 USD
