Employment Litigation Paralegal

San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA

About The Team

DoorDash’s Employment Litigation team defends the company in single-plaintiff, class, PAGA, arbitration, and agency matters nationwide. We move fast, think strategically, and execute like a trial team. We partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align litigation strategy with business goals, and we value ownership, clear thinking, and results.

About The Role

DoorDash is hiring an exceptional Employment Litigation Paralegal to support our employment litigation docket at an exciting time for our rapidly growing business. You will be a part of the Legal team’s Employment Litigation group, and responsible for owning an important docket of litigation. You’ll work closely with our in-house employment litigator and coordinate with outside counsel as needed. You will own day-to-day case management - calendaring, filings, discovery, subpoenas, eDiscovery, witness and deposition prep, hearing/trial/arbitration support - and keep matters moving to smart, timely resolutions. You’ll also maintain our matter management systems, track metrics and deadlines, and drive process improvements that make the team faster and sharper. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, sweats the details, and takes pride in helping a litigation team win.

This is a remote role based in the San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles areas.

You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will…

  • Be responsible for owning and maintaining the integrity of DoorDash’s employment litigation docket, from case inception to completion
  • Provide organized, proactive case management support to both inhouse and outside counsel in all stages of litigation, both administrative and substantive
  • Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including by partnering with cross-functional teams across the company
  • Support an integral part of the discovery process, including but not limited to the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, as well as setting up and maintaining document review platforms
  • Draft legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, pleadings, and response letters
  • Work with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and follow-up on potential violations of Company policy
  • Drive efficiency and consistency in DoorDash’s pre-litigation and litigation processes, with a constant eye toward opportunities for improvement

We’re Excited About You Because…

  • You’re self-motivated, thrive working autonomously, have a strong facility for detail, and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment
  • You have excellent organization, analytical, fact-finding, written, verbal, and negotiation skills
  • You excel at prioritizing a heavy volume of multiple tasks and duties at once, working efficiently and proactively, taking initiative, following through, and meeting important deadlines
  • You understand the litigation cadence from responsive pleadings to motion practice, discovery, arbitration, and trial
  • You understand the value of efficiency, and will invest efforts in utilizing AI, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Google Apps Script, and NotebookLM, to drive efficient processes without sacrificing quality
  • You have a team player mentality. No job is too big or too small!
  • You are committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
  • You have 5+ years of relevant experience managing a large docket of litigation matters at a top law firm or inhouse legal department, or similar experience
  • You have experience with the various types of employment litigation, preferably in California
  • You have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
