Senior Compensation Design Specialist

United States - Remote

About the Team

The Compensation team designs and manages programs aimed at motivating and retaining top talent and enabling our Pay for Performance philosophy. Our work impacts every employee globally through the programs we administer. As part of the Total Rewards function, the Global Compensation team strives to provide a consistent and inclusive experience for all DoorDash employees across the globe, regardless of their location, background, or job responsibility.

About the Role

DoorDash is seeking a Principal, Compensation Design who is a first principles thinker to join a team focused on running our cycles, designing our site, and building our job architecture and ranges. You will be an integral part of the team that redesigns and maintains DoorDash’s compensation infrastructure as the business scales.

This year is particularly exciting as you will be a key contributor to merging three different international company job architectures. You will help us build a cycle that is heavily automated, focused on advanced tooling, and designed to create a superior experience for both employees and leaders.

You’re excited about this role because you’ll:

  • Contribute to Global Integration: Act as a key contributor in the merger of three international company job architectures into a unified DoorDash framework.

  • Administer Total Pay: Help develop and communicate total pay programs, including base salary and equity, that align with company strategy and industry benchmarks.
  • Drive Data-Led Design: Use your analytical skills to make data-driven decisions on the structure and design of compensation programs.
  • Collaborate Globally: Partner with HR Business Partners, recruiters, and Finance to manage global compensation matters such as offers, promotions, and budgeting.

We’re excited about you because:

  • First Principles Mentality: You approach problems by breaking them down to their core truths rather than simply relying on industry standards.
  • Global Compensation Expertise: You have a background in global compensation and understand the complexities of international pay structures.
  • Architecture Experience: You have experience with the design and maintenance of job architectures and pay models at rapidly changing companies.
  • Expert Storyteller: You have strong data analysis skills and can effectively present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptable Operator: You thrive in fast-paced environments, are comfortable with ambiguity, and can adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experienced Professional: You have 8+ years of compensation experience in either a consulting or in-house role.
  • Educational Foundation: You hold a bachelor’s degree in economics, business, finance, or another STEM discipline.
  • Tech Savvy: You have experience with Workday (preferred) and program management (preferred).

We expect this position to be filled by 7/11/26.
