Internal Affairs Manager

Miami (Preferred) or New York City

About the Role

We’re seeking an Internal Affairs Manager to serve as Dorsia’s first line of defense against fraud, abuse, and system vulnerabilities across employees, members, vendors, and suppliers. This role is designed for someone with a paranoia mindset—operating under the assumption that exploitation is always possible—and systematically testing for it through audits, blind shopping, and covert stress tests.

By surfacing risks early and closing loopholes before they scale, this person will directly safeguard Dorsia’s financial health, brand integrity, and member trust. The ideal candidate blends analytical rigor with street smarts, thrives in high-stakes environments, and is comfortable handling sensitive investigations with discretion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fraud & Exploitation Detection

    • Audit vendor and supplier dealings against contract to detect overcharging, theft, and illicit revenue skimming practices, while documenting evidence to support corrective action or termination.
    • Review member accounts and transaction flows for patterns of abuse, including repeated refund requests, service credit exploitation, or coordinated attempts to take advantage of system gaps, informing product & operational roadmaps to adjust accordingly.
    • Run targeted investigations into employee activity, including expense account misuse, conflicts of interest, and potential competitor infiltration, ensuring risks are surfaced early.

  • Covert Audits & Blind Shopping
    • Regularly perform secret bookings and covert vendor submissions to test how transactions are processed end-to-end, identifying any attempts to bypass official systems.
    • Conduct mystery shopping exercises at venues and with suppliers to uncover hidden markups, off-network processing, or preferential treatment that undermines Dorsia’s value proposition.
    • Simulate member behaviors designed to exploit loopholes (credits, refunds, chargebacks) to proactively identify vulnerabilities before they are abused at scale.

  • Controls & Systems

    • Work closely with Finance and Engineering to design airtight AP/AR processes, minimizing opportunities for manipulation of payouts, reimbursements, and credits.
    • Partner with Product to embed compliance into platform workflows, ensuring booking, payment, and vendor systems are resistant to exploitation.
    • Develop observability tools and real-time alerts that automatically flag suspicious behaviors, irregular payment flows, or deviations from standard approval processes.

  • Accountability & Reporting

    • Maintain clear documentation of investigative methods, findings, and recommendations, ensuring leadership has actionable insights supported by evidence.
    • Provide regular reporting to the Controller, with a direct communication line to the CEO for escalations that require urgent resolution or structural fixes.
    • Translate investigations into product roadmap and operational changes, ensuring vulnerabilities are closed permanently rather than repeatedly patched.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years of experience in audit, risk management, investigations, or fraud detection.
  • Proven ability to blend analytical rigor with street-level intuition.
  • Background in hospitality, nightlife, entertainment, or casino industries is a plus.
  • Comfortable running covert operations, blind audits, and handling highly sensitive information with discretion.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in spotting risks before they escalate.

What Success Looks Like

  • Fraud, abuse, and leakage are detected early and eliminated before material impact.
  • Dorsia’s systems, processes, and vendor relationships are fortified against exploitation.
  • Investigations consistently translate into lasting product and operational improvements.
  • Leadership trusts the function as a reliable source of risk intelligence and decisive action.
  • Member trust and brand integrity remain uncompromised, even under stress tests.

Our Core Values

Lead with hospitality. We respect the craft and precision that are intrinsic to the hospitality industry. We are a team diverse in background and thought, built to be the connective tissue between artists, chefs, diners, and members.

Mise en place. We are persistent in preparation, prioritization, and focus to anticipate our customers’ needs to create a powerful platform rooted in simplicity and elegance. And we know that details matter, which is why superior design is crucial to our brand ethos. Thoughtful design is baked into everything we do—our product, brand, creative, culture, and beyond.

Go around the table—then commit. We know creativity takes feedback and iteration, and differing opinions can lead to healthy debate. While we encourage all voices to speak up and be heard, we are geared toward action and unify around the decision once it's made. Sometimes an individual idea or project may not be what’s best for the company, so don’t be afraid to kill your darlings.

Our product is our signature dish. We are a product and marketing-led organization. Protecting our brand and vision needs to be top-of-mind with every move we make.

Optimize turn times. We are creating beautifully-designed, tech-forward solutions to automate all sides of our business: for members, restaurants, and employees. And we’re laying a data-rich foundation to enable all stakeholders to make better decisions and enjoy the finer things in life.

Savor it. We eat slowly and celebrate the wins we share with those around the table. We’re in this for the long-haul, so enjoy the ride.

Stay hungry. We can change the world or someone else will. We believe in a sense of urgency to keep pushing toward our goals. And there’s always room for dessert, because there’s always more to do.
