As Creative Director, Art/ Designer at dotdotdash, you inspire and lead teams to create inventive work across digital, physical, and immersive spaces. You drive brand innovation, champion bold thinking, and use new tools and technology to help brands stand out and connect with audiences in unexpected ways.

Responsibilities:

Vision & Leadership:

  • Set the creative vision for our most ambitious projects, ensuring ideas are innovative, strategically sound, and rooted in human insight
  • Direct, mentor, and inspire interdisciplinary teams—including experience, design, copywriting, and creative technology—fostering a culture of curiosity, excellence, and collaboration
  • Champion design excellence, continuously advocating for the user to ensure every touchpoint is intuitive, meaningful, and impactful
  • Stay at the forefront of AI advancements, integrating AI tools and methodologies into ideation, design, and execution to drive quality, efficiency and creative innovation

Concept through Execution:

  • Conceive and inspire world-first ideas and apply emerging technology to help brands transform their brand purpose and beliefs into brand behaviors
  • Lead ideation and translate high-level concepts into actionable experience ideas by guiding the creation of key creative artifacts—such as design scenarios, user journeys, interface prototypes and design systems—ensuring clarity of vision and consistency from concept through launch
  • Harness AI-powered tools to accelerate prototyping, enhance creative exploration, and optimize design processes

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Facilitate interdisciplinary brainstorms and workshops, uniting creative, technical, and production perspectives into a cohesive direction
  • Partner with clients as a trusted advisor—articulating ideas, gathering feedback, and translating business needs into breakthrough creative work
  • Manage creative team across one or more projects, assigning deliverables and streamlining workflows to ensure clarity, accountability, and timely execution

Quality & Delivery:

  • Collaborate closely with production, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and inventive project planning—taking full accountability for creative plans while balancing creative ambition, talent growth and profitability
  • Set the benchmark for creative excellence, providing clear, actionable feedback and ensuring all work meets the highest standards of craft, innovation, and brand impact
  • Proactively identify and address challenges, communicating transparently with cross-functional leads to keep projects on track

Growth & Impact:

  • Cultivate and expand client relationships, championing work that delivers both creative impact and measurable business value
  • Mentor and develop talent within the creative team, providing feedback and fostering growth
  • Drive a culture of experimentation, embracing risk, continuous learning, and the exploration of new AI-driven possibilities—ensuring dotdotdash remains at the forefront of experience innovation
  • Grow and maintain a community of top creative talent to continuously elevate dotdotdash’s creative team diversity and perspective

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive creative leadership, with a diverse, distinguished portfolio spanning digital, physical, and/or immersive experiences
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a creative agency, production company or in-house innovation team
  • Experience working with technology leaders and practitioners from strategy through implementation
  • Expert in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledgeable in leveraging AI tools and platforms to enhance creative ideation, streamline workflows, and elevate execution
  • Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver diverse project types: experience-led campaigns, digital product design, retail experience design, and experiential activations
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, and hands-on design skills—able to move from vision to execution with agility
  • Exceptional presentation, storytelling, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in creative technology and a passion for emerging platforms and mediums
  • Understanding how experience innovation ties into broader marketing ecosystems, including social, PR, and earned media
  • Portfolio demonstrating experience delivering campaign look & feel, digital campaign experiences, multi-media content production
  • Proficiency in designing spatial and multisensory experiences; experience developing immersive installations, pop-ups, brand activations, or hybrid digital/physical spaces
  • Portfolio demonstrates narrative-driven environments that engage audiences emotionally and physically
  • Deep understanding of materials, fabrication processes, and spatial storytelling, with an eye for detail and a passion for delight
  • Familiarity with spatial design software (SketchUp, Rhino, Cinema 4D, etc.) and real-time rendering tools
