Position Overview 

 

As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead the Social Engineering team responsible for  new initiatives, designs and builds deep integrations with the world’s biggest social platforms to measure ad performance. You will make technical choices that ensure industry-leading scalability reliability factors on mission-critical systems that process billions of real-time transactions a day. You will lead the team to accomplish ambitious visions and work directly with engineers from the largest internet companies to collaborate on API development.

 

What will you do?

  • Lead a great team of motivated engineers and develop critical, large-scale distributed services for DoubleVerify's Social products.

  • Consistently delivers large complex projects, services, and APIs that scale in an iterative way that frontloads business value 

  • Oversee end-to-end integrations with the rapidly increasing list of Social Integration Platforms and has in-depth knowledge of business strategies and DoubleVerify’s goals.

  • Own major strategic initiatives that consistently and routinely push forward DV Engineering teams 

  • Define processes and structures that enable the strong growth and execution of a diverse engineering organization.

  • Contributes to architectural decisions with a focus on the product and business needs

  • Continuously explore the technical landscape of the Big Data ecosystem through analysis of various frameworks and technologies.

  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to engineers through brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and pair-programming

  • Interacts internally and externally with executive-level management, requiring negotiation of highly critical matters.

  • Communicates technical concepts to business stakeholders as well as communicates business objectives to the technical team[s].

  • Attract, interview, hire, and onboard talented engineers and team leaders to build a shared team of Data and Software Engineers in DoubleVerify’s Social Integrations team. 

  • Continuously optimize SDLC processes, including through the implementation of CI/CD

  • Operate production environments, investigate issues, assess their impact, and develop feasible solutions.

  • Work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility for product development and delivery

 

Who are you?

  • Lead by example - design, lead, and deliver quality solutions.

  • Love what you do and are passionate about building and operating mission-critical data-intensive and distributed systems

  • Ability to architect and design complex software systems while adhering to fundamental principles and best practices

  • In-depth understanding and hands-on experience of distributed system technologies, standards, and protocols

  • Genuine desire to automate decision-making, processes, and workflows

  • Experience with following and advocating state-of-the-art SDLC processes

  • Fluent in SQL and data analysis, and 

  • 9+ years of programming experience using languages such as Python.

  • 3+ years of Hands-on experience working in big data systems using BigQuery, Airflow, and building data pipelines at scale.

  • 3+ years of experience in leadership roles

  • Experience working with DevOps domain - working with build servers, Docker, and container clusters (kubernetes)

  • Experience in mentoring and growing a diverse team of talented data engineers

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or a related field

  • Excellent communication skills and a team player

  • 1+ Years of experience in Online Advertising technology (Preferred)

  • Expertise in dbt and BigQuery (Preferred)
