The Opportunity
The Senior Project Manager leads the project managers who deliver our largest electrical construction work. You will be accountable for the performance of a PM team and for everything in their combined portfolio, from schedule and budget through client relationships and safety.
This seat is a shift from running projects to running the people who run projects. You will hire, coach, and develop the project managers on your team, step in as the senior escalation point when something exceeds their authority, hold executive-level client relationships across the portfolio, and help set the standards the whole project management function works to. The role calls for a track record as a strong individual project manager and evidence that you can raise the performance of others.
What You'll Do
Lead the Project Management Team
- Supervise a team of project managers, providing day-to-day guidance, performance coaching, workload oversight, and development support.
- Lead project manager hiring, onboarding, and performance review, and make recommendations on promotions, corrective action, and team structure.
- Mentor high-potential project management staff and partner with HR on workforce planning for the team.
- Provide directed leadership in the use and training of our Standard Operating Procedures.
Own Portfolio Performance
- Oversee the health and performance of every project in the team's portfolio, holding delivery to schedule, scope, budget, and our quality and safety standards.
- Monitor financial performance across the portfolio, identify cost variances and risk exposure, and intervene where needed.
- Review and give final approval or escalation guidance on major contracts, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontractor agreements.
- Serve as the senior point of escalation for complex project issues, client disputes, scope conflicts, and field execution challenges that exceed project manager authority.
- Hold project management staff accountable to safety regulations and champion a zero-incident culture across the portfolio.
Own Executive Relationships and Pursuits
- Own and cultivate executive-level client, owner, and general contractor relationships across the team's portfolio.
- Lead or co-lead business development pursuits, including client meetings, proposal development, go and no-go decisions, and pursuit strategy.
Shape How Operations Runs
- Work with senior leadership to develop annual company goals, project execution standards, and the operational policies that govern the team.
- Drive continuous improvement across project management processes, workflows, tools, and reporting, and lead adoption of new systems and delivery methods.
- Lead integration of Prefab, VDC, and field operations strategy across the team's projects, modeling best practice for the project managers you lead.
- Provide executive-level reporting on portfolio performance, team capacity, and operational health.
Qualifications

- Proficiency with BIM and coordination software, including Navisworks.
- Master Electrician license.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
We recognize that experience comes from many paths. An equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience that results in successful performance of the job is welcomed. Additional education may substitute for required experience on a one-for-one year basis, or vice versa.
