The Opportunity
The Project Manager III is a senior leader in Operations. You will take full strategic ownership of large, high-complexity electrical construction projects and programs, driving them from preconstruction through closeout while shaping how the project management function works.
You will manage projects typically exceeding $10 million in electrical scope, including design-build, EPC, and complex multi-phase programs. Two things separate this seat from the one below it. You will formally mentor and develop Project Manager I and II staff, and you will represent DP Electric directly in client and business development relationships.
What You'll Do
Lead Large and Complex Projects
- Lead multiple large, complex projects from bid summary delivery through final walkthrough, with full accountability for scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
- Manage programs and multi-project portfolios, coordinating across project teams, field leadership, and executive stakeholders.
- Monitor project health across all active work, and identify and mitigate risk, schedule slippage, and scope exposure before it lands.
- Develop and deliver Method of Procedures documents and project execution plans that keep field and stakeholders aligned.
Drive Preconstruction and Commercial Strategy
- Drive preconstruction strategy, including scope development, take-offs, bid review, and constructability analysis for major pursuits.
- Review, negotiate, and execute purchase orders, contracts, submittals, and change orders.
- Manage billing and financial performance across all active jobs, analyze cost trends, approve time and material vouchers, and take corrective action on variances.
- Lead and model the integration of Prefab and VDC coordination into project planning and execution.
Own Client Relationships and Pursuits
- Own and cultivate senior client, owner, and general contractor relationships as the primary executive-level contact on major projects.
- Participate in business development, including client meetings, proposal development, and pursuit strategy.
Develop the Team and the Function
- Mentor, coach, and formally develop Project Manager I and II staff, and contribute to performance reviews and hiring decisions.
- Collaborate with operations leadership on annual company goals, project execution standards, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrate, lead, and train others on our Standard Operating Procedures.
- Evaluate and adopt emerging project management tools and delivery methods, including BIM and design-build.
- Use data analytics and reporting tools to give leadership insight into project performance.
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture and hold every project to full regulatory compliance.
