3D Art Intern (Unannounced Project)
Location: Guildford, UK
Duration: 10 weeks; June - August
Format: On-site (minimum of 3 days per week working from the office)
Terms: Full-time, paid
Eligibility: Candidates are required to hold valid work permit/visa at the time of the application and must be a student currently studying in UK

Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and creative game art student to experience working within an exceptional art team on a live project. Working alongside seasoned game developers, there is ample opportunity to learn, grow and contribute. Embedded in the Art team your day-to-day activities would range anywhere from creating in-game assets, discussing visual principals around a whiteboard, or printing out and displaying artwork. It’s a rare opportunity and would provide an invaluable look behind the curtain of AAA game development.
What are we looking for?
- Unreal Engine (UE5) knowledge is essential – demonstratable through a strong portfolio;
- Knowledge of UE5 asset integration (shader set up and use of textures);
- Proficiency in 3D software, e.g. Maya, Max, Blender;
- Experience of using Photoshop, Painter;
- A strong artistic eye for detail, color, value, tone, silhouette and lighting;
- Self-motivation, excellent communication skills and a positive team-player attitude;
- A passion for keeping up to date with current as well as future techniques.
What will help you stand out?
- Portfolio showing environment example projects or hard surface modeling proficiency alongside strong texturing and rendering skills.
What you will learn:
- Industry-standard pipelines with technical nuances and intricacies of 3D asset creation for AAA games;
- Learning ways to optimize assets;
- Working in the team and learning about other departments and their responsibilities in the project.
