Senior Scientist, CMC Analytics 

Dragonfly Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist (title commensurate with experience) who brings enthusiasm, intellectual curiosity, scientific rigor, and a desire to help drive novel immunotherapy programs forward to the clinic. The candidate must be independent, goal-oriented, flexible, and able to work efficiently across multiple projects. We are searching for enthusiastic and innovative individuals with a deep scientific interest in immunotherapy and drug discovery, who thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

  • Leverage expertise in biochemical and biophysical assays, including but not limited to LC-based methods, ELISA, qPCR, CGE, DLS, and mass spec, to answer critical questions to advance Dragonfly’s clinical candidates
  • Participate in various aspects of method development, assay and process transfer, characterization, comparability, and investigations as required
  • Work closely with team members in analytical development and quality control, as well as other functions such as protein sciences, research analytics, tech ops, and regulatory, to support the timely assay development, assay validation, testing and release of materials to be used to support preclinical and clinical activities
  • Provide analytical guidance and support for formulation development, upstream and downstream process development and manufacturing to solve real-time development issues
  • Independently evaluate and interpret analytical data and draw conclusions based on the results
  • Drive planning and execution of product characterization activities
  • Identify, evaluate, and implement new and existing protein characterization technologies to improve internal analytical capabilities, throughput, and quality
  • Communicate plans, timelines, and results with cross-functional colleagues and external partners
  • Prepare and review technical reports, internal, and external presentations
  • Author / review relevant sections of regulatory submissions (IND/IMPD)
  • Ensure effective, high-quality, timely and appropriate documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering, or equivalent related fields with 5+ years relevant industry experience in protein biochemistry, or Masters degree with 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience with characterization of proteins with biophysical and analytical techniques such as CD, AUC, DSF, DSC, SEC-MALS, DLS/SLS, CE, cIEF, HPLC-based assays (SEC, HIC, IEX, etc.) is required
  • Experience with protein mass spectrometry including Thermo and Waters mass spectrometers and Protein Metrics data analysis software is a plus
  • Experience with automation instrumentation is a plue
  • The candidate should be self-motivated, accountable, inquisitive, and have excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and balance multiple priorities is required
