About this opportunity:
- Location: Scattered sites in Asheville, NC
- Compensation: Starting at $20.00-$23.00 hourly (depending on experience)
- with commission potential
- Position type: Full-time
- This job requires a flexible schedule with varied work hours that may include weekends.
- Travel Requirements: Expected travel through multiple scattered sites.
What We are Looking for in a Traveling Service Technician:
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to complete apartment turnovers within 5 days, across multiple properties.
- Skilled in drywall/plaster, painting, and lock replacement with a focus on quality finishes.
- Groundskeeping and curb appeal maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with unit turnovers in both new and older buildings, adapting to unique challenges at each site.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle for travel between communities (mileage reimbursed).
- Must carry basic tools for daily assignments.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to interact effectively with residents, team members, and vendors.
- Physical capability: lift 50+ lbs, climb multiple flights of stairs, and remain on your feet throughout the day.
What you will do as a Traveling Service Technician:
- Travel between assigned properties to provide maintenance coverage and support where needed.
- Deliver exceptional service by addressing resident requests within 24 hours and ensuring satisfaction.
- Complete unit turnovers quickly and efficiently to support occupancy goals, with unit turn goal of 5 days
- Perform repairs and preventative maintenance across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, painting, and locks.
- Support grounds and common areas to maintain safety, cleanliness, and curb appeal.
- Respond to on-call emergencies when scheduled, providing timely solutions.
- Keep a well-stocked mobile tool set and help maintain property shops, avoiding unnecessary spending.
- Act with an ownership mentality — protect assets, reduce costs, and complete work as if you owned the property.
- Model professionalism and teamwork while representing DLP across multiple communities.
