We are seeking a Billing Support Agent who is detail-oriented, empathetic, and proactive. This role is at the heart of our patient experience, ensuring that billing and insurance processes are smooth, clear, and stress-free for patients. You’ll be the primary point of contact for patients with billing questions, while also coordinating with our operations and finance teams to ensure accuracy in payments and claims.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong sense of empathy, and the ability to balance patient support with operational accuracy.

Here's what you'll do:

Patient Support & Billing Inquiries

  • Serve as the first point of contact for patients regarding billing, payments, and insurance-related questions, through the various communication channels (email, phone, mobile applications)
  • Provide clear, empathetic, and timely communication to resolve concerns.
  • Guide patients through the billing process, including explaining GFE, invoices and coverage.

Billing & Payments

  • Check patients benefits using payers portals or contact them if needed
  • Process patient payments and set up payment plans when needed.
  • Assist with issuing and tracking invoices.
  • Support insurance claim submissions by gathering required patient information and documents.

Coordination & Accuracy

  • Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure accuracy in billing and insurance processes.
  • Identify and escalate discrepancies or issues in billing records.
  • Maintain accurate records in our digital systems (e.g., Apero, CRM, or similar tools).

Continuous Improvement

  • Collect patient feedback to identify pain points in billing communication and processes.
  • Contribute ideas to improve billing workflows, tools, and patient experience.

What You Bring

  • 3- 5 years previous experience in billing, medical billing, or patient support (healthcare environment preferred).
  • Familiarity with insurance processes is an advantage.
  • Experience with Apero is nice to have

Compensation

$45K-$55K
