Fleet Coordinator
DriveWhip is a mobility provider in the DC area, with offices in multiple cities, including Boston; we lease/rent vehicles to Uber, Lyft and other On-Demand or Rideshare drivers. Our goal is to deliver superior customer service, respect, expertise and responsiveness to our customers. As stewards of our company, you will be responsible for awarding every customer with a positive rental experience.
Position Summary: Do you thrive on independence and enjoy managing the details that keep a fleet moving? Whip is seeking an in-person Fleet Coordinator to manage the day to day operations of our carshare vehicle fleet in this market.
In this role, you will act as the primary operational lead on-site, at your location; you'll be working independently while partnering closely with central leadership and teams in other offices across the country. You will bridge the gap between our local customers, vendors and our headquarters, ensuring that our fleet logistics, compliance, and vehicle readiness standards are consistently met in Boston.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to the following):
- Conduct routine vehicle checks, clean interiors, and ensure all cars are road-ready.
- Ensure all workflows regarding vehicle check-ins and check-outs are executed flawlessly.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex vehicle issues reported by drivers, ensuring quick resolution to keep them on the road.
- Maintain 100% accuracy of vehicle status in our fleet software. You will be responsible for verifying physical inventory and coordinating vehicle movement without onsite oversight.
- Maintain constant communication with central operations and support teams via digital channels (slack, email, etc.).
- Act as the local decision-maker for third-party relationships, ensuring local mechanics, body shops, and parking vendors adhere to our SLAs and quality standards.
- Adapt standard operating procedures (SOPs) to fit the specific needs of your local market while maintaining company-wide consistency.
Qualifications Required:
- Experience working in a remote or satellite office environment where you were responsible for managing your own schedule and priorities.
- Proven background in fleet management, logistics, or operations coordination in the automotive industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication– as you will be collaborating primarily with remote teams. Comfortable using tools like Slack and Google Workspace.
- Ability to manage complex schedules, vendors, and processes with minimal supervision.
- You can proactively identify local operational risks and solve them before they escalate to HQ.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly operate, move, and park vehicles of various sizes safely and efficiently.
- Frequently bend, kneel, crouch, or reach to inspect vehicle interiors, tires, and undercarriages.
- Occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds, such as vehicle equipment, tools, or supplies.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) when performing outdoor fleet tasks.
- Spend extended periods standing, walking between vehicles, and moving around the lot or service areas.
- Use hands and tools to perform light maintenance or cleaning tasks as needed.
Salary: $20 - $30/hour, depending on experience
