We are looking for passionate, talented people who want to join us in our mission to inspire and educate men to be happier and healthier!
About the Role:
Dr. Squatch is seeking an Associate Director, Commercialization — Retail to join our Product organization. This role will sit at the center of Product, Sales, Marketing, Creative, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure retail launches and programs are planned, sequenced, and executed seamlessly across Mass, Club, Drug, and other key retail channels.
As the Associate Director, Commercialization — Retail, you will own the commercialization strategy and execution model for the retail channel, ensuring that cross-functional teams are aligned on priorities, timelines, risks, dependencies, and decision-making. You will be responsible for managing a complex retail roadmap, driving scalable launch processes, identifying operational constraints, and ensuring the organization is set up to execute with excellence as Dr. Squatch continues to expand its retail footprint.
This role requires a strategic, highly organized, and commercially minded leader who can operate at both the roadmap and execution level. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing ambiguity, influencing senior stakeholders, building scalable processes, and holding cross-functional partners accountable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
The Associate Director, Commercialization — Retail will report directly to the Senior Director, Commercialization.
This is a full-time, hybrid role with company benefits, based in Marina Del Rey, CA, that requires 3 days per week at Dr. Squatch HQ.
The anticipated base compensation range for this role will be $145,000 to $155,000. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and local market rates.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the Retail Commercialization function across Mass, Club, Drug, and other key retail channels, ensuring the organization is set up to execute retail launches and programs with clarity, accountability, and discipline.
- Own the retail commercialization roadmap in partnership with Sales, Product, Marketing, Creative, Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, and Executive Leadership.
- Drive cross-functional alignment on launch priorities, scope, timing, risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and key decisions.
- Lead the retail stage gate process, ensuring launch readiness is clearly tracked, risks are surfaced early, and teams are held accountable to critical milestones.
- Partner with Sales and Retail Operations to ensure retailer-specific requirements, sample needs, line review timing, displays, packaging, and operational deliverables are built into commercialization plans.
- Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and capacity constraints across the retail roadmap, and lead teams toward clear solutions or escalation paths.
- Build scalable processes, tools, and operating rhythms that improve retail launch execution as the business grows.
- Serve as a senior commercialization partner to cross-functional leaders, providing visibility into roadmap health, launch readiness, and execution risks.
- Mentor and guide members of the Commercialization team as the function continues to grow.
About You:
- 7+ years of experience in commercialization, project management, program management, operations, strategy, or a related field, ideally within CPG, retail, consumer products, or a high-growth environment.
- Strong understanding of retail commercialization, including retailer timelines, launch readiness, packaging, displays, samples, supply chain dependencies, and cross-functional execution.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and drive alignment across senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized and operationally strong, with the ability to manage multiple launches, priorities, timelines, and risks at once.
- Strong communicator who can clearly articulate roadmap status, risks, tradeoffs, and decisions to both working teams and leadership.
- Comfortable creating structure in ambiguity, improving processes, and building scalable ways of working.
- Collaborative, proactive, and team-first, with the ability to influence without authority and hold teams accountable while maintaining strong relationships.
- Experience with project management tools such as Monday.com, Asana, Jira, Smartsheet, Ziflow, Notion, or similar platforms preferred.
