The practice is located less than 20 miles away from Virginia–Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, making it an ideal location for new veterinary graduates as well as current students looking for an externship at an established clinic. At Dublin Animal Hospital, we offer preventive care services as well surgical procedures (C-section, cherry eye surgery, and more), and veterinarians are supported by one technician or assistant per doctor. Digital x-ray, ultrasound, and EKG equipment are available for use as needed, and boarding is also offered for medical or vacation purposes!

About the Role:
As Practice Manager, you’ll oversee the business operations of the hospital and partner closely with the Medical Director to ensure exceptional care and strong team performance. You’ll manage the daily operations, lead the staff, and help shape the culture and strategic direction of the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Management
- Recruit, develop, and retain an engaged, motivated team.
- Provide structured training to new hires and support ongoing learning for all staff.
- Partner with the Medical Director to lead team meetings and promote open communication.
- Foster a positive, collaborative culture aligned with VetEvolve’s values: Serve, Evolve, Trust.
- Address and resolve employee concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Ensure adherence to safety and security protocols throughout the hospital.
Business Operations
- Streamline workflows and staffing to maintain efficiency and excellent client service.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as payroll, revenue, and inventory to meet business goals.
- Collaborate with the Medical Director and Regional Manager on growth strategies and community outreach.
- Support financial planning, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Oversee inventory control, equipment maintenance, and data accuracy within practice management systems.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in both patient care and business performance.
- Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the success of the hospital.
Core Competencies and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years in a managerial role within a veterinary practice or animal hospital.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with a track record of driving results.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities in a dynamic environment.
- Solid financial acumen, including experience with budgeting and data analysis.
- A passion for high-quality veterinary care and a drive to create a positive work environment.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative setting while independently managing day-to-day operations.
- Local to or able to reliably commute to Dublin, VA
