Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide support across the firm as part of the internal control framework. Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant will include, but are not limited to:
- Generate and distribute monthly client invoices, support accounts payable and receivable, and assist with collections as needed.
- Maintain accurate financial records, including general ledge entries and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with the preparation of basic financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Review submitted expense reports for accuracy.
- Prepare documentation and schedules for external auditors during audits.
- Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and procedures and assist in maintaining compliance with GAAP.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of one year of relevant experience in an accounting role within the financial services industry, ideally for a public accounting firm or an SEC registered or FINRA member broker-dealer.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of accounting principles.
- High levels of ethics, integrity, and judgment.
Additional Information
Expected annualized base salary range: $70,000 - $85,000
The annual base salary range reflects the low and high targets of the estimated base salary range for this position. The actual base salary an employee in this role receives may vary depending on a variety of factors, including but not limited to: work location, job-related knowledge, and prior experience. The range listed reflects base salary only, and the total compensation package may include other components.
