Senior Applied Data Scientist

We’re looking for a Senior Applied Data Scientist to join our Tesco Media Data Science team in Central Europe. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Media teams, evaluating the performance of retail media campaigns such as on‑site banners and other retail media carriers, and building high‑quality data science solutions that help drive strong results. The role combines hands‑on technical work with client‑facing collaboration, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys translating analytics into real business impact.

 

What we expect from you

  • Ability to lead and deliver complex data science and analytical projects end-to-end.
  • Skill in translating client briefs into actionable data science approaches.
  • Proven experience applying a range of data science techniques to solve real-world business problems.
  • Strong proficiency in Python; experience with PySpark is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience working with large-scale transactional datasets (millions of rows).
  • A fast learner with the ability to adopt new data science techniques quickly.
  • Confidence in presenting insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and Hungarian.
  • Knowledge of the CE retail or consumer goods industry is a bonus.
