Senior Product Designer

About Durable:

Our mission at Durable is to make owning a business easier than having a job.

Durable builds AI that does the work for you. Our goal is to own the DIFY (Do It For You) small business category.

What is DIFY? It is a new category of technology that is faster and more cost effective than a human, and much easier to use than software. It is an AI first approach to solving customer problems.

You don't need to learn new software. You don't need to read help docs. You don't need to learn how to prompt. You provide business context and feedback, and the work is done for you.

We believe in a world where everyone is a business owner. Whether it's a full-time, part-time, or side hustle - we want to make it frictionless to start and operate a business. Since launching in late 2022, over 5 million websites have been built with our AI powered website builder. We are generating significant revenue, well-funded by Silicon Valley investors, and growing extremely fast.

Our vision is much bigger, and we're looking for incredible people to join our team and make an impact.

About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll play a critical role in shaping Durable’s core user experience. You’ll lead the design of intelligent, AI-native systems that feel proactive, intuitive, and approachable. This isn’t a traditional SaaS design role, you’ll be inventing new patterns for interacting with AI, simplifying complex tasks into beautiful flows, and helping small business owners feel empowered by AI, not afraid of it.

You’ll work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and leadership to define what great AI UX looks like and set the standard for how we build it. You’ll be a force multiplier for the design team: guiding others, raising the bar, and delivering work that moves the business forward.

This is a high-impact, high-autonomy role for someone who wants to define the future of AI product design.

What You'll Do:

  • Own design of major AI features — from concept to polished production. You’ll lead the design of AI-first experiences such as asset generation, multi-modal interactions, and agentic workflows.
  • Think like a product owner — not just shipping pixels, but influencing what we build and why. You’ll work closely with PMs, engineers, and researchers to shape product strategy.
  • Design multimodal experiences — text, voice, image, sms. You’ll design experience not limited to just traditional UI in the browser. You’ll explore new interaction models that make AI feel natural and trustworthy.
  • Create systems that scale — develop component libraries, design patterns, and best practices for how AI should behave and feel across the product.
  • Prototype fast and often — spend less time in Figma and more time prototyping with code to craft beautifully detailed interactions and impactful AI-first experiences.

You Might Be a Fit If You:

  • Have 5+ years of product design experience building b2b and/or consumer product experiences.
  • Have impeccable taste, craft, and attention to detail.
  • Have owned end-to-end product design, from research and strategy to detailed UI and visual polish.
  • Experience with prototyping with code, even vibe-coding.
  • Think in terms of outcomes, not just features. You design to drive impact, not just ship.
  • Can operate independently while collaborating deeply with cross-functional peers.
  • Thrive in ambiguity. You’re excited to go from rough idea to live product and to build things that haven’t existed before.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience building AI native experiences, prompt design, and/or multi-modal interfaces.
  • Comfortable working in code, or collaborating tightly with engineers.
  • Startup experience or having launched your own product or business.

At Durable, we’re committed to creating an environment where you can thrive. Here’s what you can look forward to:
