POSITION OVERVIEW

We're growing — and looking to add more depth and experience to our accounting leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing Dvorak's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across the company. You'll lead and develop a small team (a Payroll Specialist and an A/R Specialist), establish strong internal controls, and serve as a strategic partner to leadership — providing the financial insight and analysis that supports smart, long-term business decisions.

Title and level are flexible depending on background and experience.

What We're Looking For

• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and payroll staff; set clear expectations and accountability standards
• Oversee general ledger reviews, monthly reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close
• Manage AR processes including progress billings, retainage, lien waivers, and job cost accounting
• Oversee AP operations, invoice coding, vendor relationships, and weekly check runs
• Audit payroll for accuracy and compliance, including certified payroll and prevailing wage requirements
• Lead annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting; analyze trends and variances for leadership
• Support audits, bonding, and compliance documentation 

Certifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in construction or contracting
• Strong knowledge of job cost accounting and construction billing practices
• Experience leading or mentoring accounting staff
• Vista experience strongly preferred; advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
• High attention to detail, strong judgement, and excellent communication skills - this role partners closely with operations, project managers, and leadership

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year (based upon experience) + bonus opportunity 

Work Location: Dundalk Office / Hybrid
