Our ideal team member is a trend-obsessed, future-looking storyteller – a person with strong writing skills, a track record of strategic and critical thinking, and an eagerness to expand their expertise in our clients’ industries. B2C experience is strongly encouraged for this role, and candidates with experience in the fields of retail, technology and consumer-packaged goods are preferred. 

 

About the role: 

This role calls for a social strategist who’s more than capable of crafting paid/owned/earned plans, who isn’t shy to jump in to write short- and long-form content when needed, understands how to use social for thought leadership, and has a passion for brand reputation building. You’ll join a talented group of teammates who look forward to partnering to bring the best thinking to our clients. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Contribute heavily to social strategy, content/channel management and measurement for clients: 
  • Initiate and drive social/digital strategy development, inclusive of paid/owned/earned tactics, with some direction/oversight 
  • Manage clients’ social channels, including community management and providing occasional paid support guidance (for which training can be provided) 
  • Manages development of digital/social results for campaign, monthly and quarterly reporting needs in partnership with our analytics team 
  • Demonstrate a deep working knowledge of the social landscape and the clients’ positions therein, to spot opportunities that help our clients evolve, grow or push the boundaries of what they do online 
  • Adept in identifying and engaging with prominent influencers in social/cultural conversations to drive awareness and interest among adjacent target audiences on behalf of our clients 
  • Collaborate with creative team and/or take the lead in contributing attention-grabbing, storytelling content for online distribution; includes being the steward of our strategy and carrying through learnings from past content/campaigns to inform future content 
  • Manage day-to-day operations in support of the clients’ social strategy and channel management as well as your workload:  
  • Demonstrate a proactive understanding of assignment briefing expectations, and/or ask questions to fill in the gaps in gaps needed for creative execution 
  • Work on multiple projects/teams at one time, effectively prioritizing in real-time to meet deadlines and manage your workload while providing daily updates for the account team and client for ongoing programming 
  • Maintain basic knowledge of Agency’s proprietary tools 

What You Have: 

  • Bachelor's degree, in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, or related area 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, including at least 1 year of B2C or communications experience 
  • Social content strategy and execution experience 
  • An intermediate understanding of all digital competencies, including basic analytics, content creation, community management, influencer engagement 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • An innovative mindset, bringing new thinking to teams (client, internal and external) 
  • Experience using social media management tools (e.g. Percolate, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Spredfast, etc.) and managing social channels on behalf of brands 
  • Provide sound counsel and be comfortable providing editorial and response recommendations to clients 
  • Detail oriented with an ability to focus on the larger picture 
  • Understanding the role that social and digital media plays in a clients’ communications mix 
  • Possess a solid understanding of how to drive consumer demand through social media 
  • Have a solid understanding of online outreach, engagement and advocacy, and experience and initiative in developing appropriate online engagement strategies and content 
  • Exceptional writing skills that can communicate creatively and in an engaging manner 
  • Basic understanding of paid social media programs and platforms; experience executing paid social media buys is a plus 
  • Proactive and highly motivated; demonstrating the ability and desire to work independently and confidently, but as part of a team 
  • Have a solid understanding of social media reporting and analytics

Salary Range: $55,000 – $95,000 

 

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
