The Role: 

Golin New York is looking for a dynamic and driven senior account leader to be a “Cata-Connector.” As a Catalyst, you play an essential role in creating change for our clients; you’re a progressive business driver. As a Connector, you play an essential role in earning attention for our clients as a media expert who amplifies great work. 

Specifically, you have a passion for tech in all forms, working on a variety of related brands and organizations, doing big things and driving impressive results including earned coverage. You have a love for managing multi-faceted account teams and building integrated programs across earned, owned and paid activations.  You also have a deep understanding of the media environment and the ability to build strong relationships. You have broad communications experience across corporate and brand, consumer, B2B, product and employee communications, and executive visibility. You have a proven track record for working on large-scale, innovative campaigns. 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Work closely with our Executive Director to lead and manage strategic programs for multiple technology-related clients, ensuring the teams are providing a high standard of client service
  • In partnership with other team leaders, oversee integration of all aspects of account work which may include traditional media, social media, influencer relations and corporate reputation
  • Maintain a big-picture strategic view of client business and help to develop large-scale programs to help support client business goals
  • Develop client narratives and provide counsel on storytelling to drive positive coverage, bylines and executive visibility content
  • Provide senior-level earned media strategy and execution (pitch development, outreach, etc.) on a regular basis across various accounts utilizing well-honed media skills and relationships
  • Partner with practice leads (tech and corporate), strategic planners, creatives and earned media specialists to unlock organic client growth and new business opportunities 
  • Help to lead account planning, reporting, budgets, resource management and client satisfaction/feedback
  • Provide outstanding client counsel to all client levels on a regular basis, thriving in a hands-on, collaborative environment
  • Provide effective counsel (written & verbal), manage expectations against results, troubleshoot and be proactive in identifying challenges and opportunities, and ensure flawless execution of day-to-day client activities
  • Provide inspirational leadership to account team members helping to develop their skills and expertise
  • Manage team members’ time against client work scope and budget 

What You Have: 

  • At least 10+ years of Agency experience is required
  • Experience working on a range of technology clients
  • Previous association work and global account support is a plus, along with issues and crisis experience 
  • Strong understanding of media strategy and relationships
  • Experience building and growing teams and managing multi-faceted account teams
  • Experience developing and overseeing large-scale client announcements and launches
  • Proven ability to lead an integrated team and drive development of big ideas/business solutions
  • Ability to identify and drive opportunity including new business development
  • Proven client partner and collaborator
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-past, ever-changing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
  • Established leader who has grown talent via mentoring, providing constructive feedback and inspiring best work with staff in local and remote offices

 Salary range: $ 120,000- $219,000

Golin has included the base salary range or hourly rate for this role. Actual compensation offered within the range will depend upon, among other factors: a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience; actual ranges for current or former employees in the role; and market considerations.
