Vice President, Business Development
We are seeking a Vice President of Business Development to work closely with the executive leadership team to drive growth across Current Group’s two agencies — dna Communications and Current Global.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has a strong background in leading day-to-day new business operations and a proven ability to drive and convert pitches across consumer, corporate, and healthcare sectors. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to engage senior stakeholders, cultivate executive-level relationships, and navigate a highly matrixed organization with ease.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage new business process, including development of RFP and RFI responses
- Organize and track all pipeline leads, wins/losses and support outreach with prospective clients
- Create and centralize a New Business content hub, including case studies, credentials and bios
- Assemble and drive cross-functional pitch teams to develop breakthrough, tailored new business responses that showcase the agency’s capabilities and ideas in strategic, creative, and unique ways
- Collaborate with growth leads from The Weber Shandwick Collective brands and IPG agencies on integrated RFP responses
- Analyze growth data and outcomes to develop compelling reports merchandising growth impact and insights, as well as identify trends to improve performance
- Assist the executive leadership team in strategically packaging and commercializing new client offerings, products and solutions
- Stay abreast of industry trends, client needs, and emerging opportunities to shape the agency’s new business strategies
Qualifications
- 8-10 years in marketing/business development positions at a consultancy or communications/marketing agency
- Strong sense of entrepreneurship and ability to observe trends and emerging issues
- Proven track record of consistently achieving and exceeding new business revenue targets
- Highly effective written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to articulate strategic and creative solutions to complex client briefs
- Ability to be a collaborative and strategic partner to practice and capability leads, strategically driving all aspects of a new business response
- Strong organizational, time management and project management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects at various stages simultaneously, and proactively communicate to anticipate and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform business development strategies and measure success
- High degree of proficiency with MS Office suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

NYC Salary range: $135,000 - $175,000
Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
