Job Description:

Dynamo is hiring for a Telecommunications Specialist to support on mission critical telecommunications issues, including telecommunication installation support. This support will cover new technology as it is acquired or developed. They will assist the Voice Services Branch in installing telecommunication lines, endpoint support, cable maintenance, and installation requirements. Telecommunications specialists are required to perform cable maintenance.

The Telecommunications Specialist will be responsible for directing technical work on telecommunications installation and maintenance projects. The Specialist will lead and perform a variety of analyses, prepare makes briefings and presentations, and lead the Dynamo Telecommunications Support team in on-site management of installations. 

Duties/ Responsibilities 

  • Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices, components, software and connectivity.
  • Assists in the development and management of project plans. This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
  • Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COR, and Program point of contacts to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
  • Participate in ongoing phone moves to include installation of phone lines, work with Voice Services and Network personnel to resolve discrepancies and ensure operation of ISDN, Analog or VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) endpoints/phones.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve all types of telephone hardware and software problems (e.g. no dial tone, static, misdirected/redirected calls etc).
  • Install ISDN, analog and VoIP conference phones and peripheral equipment on an as needed basis.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and document a wide variety of telecommunications circuits to include
    • Transport connections; SDH, SONET, WDM, OTN, MPLS, PDH, DSL, fiber and ordinary copper cables.
    • Ethernet connections; Ethernet over microwave/MPLS/SDH/SONET, GPON, and carrier.
    • Data connections; MPLS, IP, DCN, ATM and frame relays data connections.
    • Voice connections; customer voice connections, signal links, voice routes, voice core and access links, voice links to Public Address system (PA) systems used for Mass Notifications, and voice interconnects to other Telecommunications Providers.
    • Video circuits to include Cable Television (CATV) from providers, Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Video Teleconferencing (VTC), High Definition (HD), composite, component, Telecommunication Installation Support and other video signal formats.
  • Delivery of IT and telecom equipment to various customers throughout your designated location. Removal of endpoint or other IT equipment from customer to warehouse.
  • Provide logistical support to the Infrastructure and Customer support group utilizing the ServiceNow software to receive, resolve and close incidents, tasks and work ticket/orders.

Education and Experience:

  • Seven (7) years of progressive IT experience including at least five projects in technical areas indicated. At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.

Travel Requirement:

  • No more than 10%

Clearance Requirement:

  • Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC) at time of proposal submission.
