Integration Engineer

Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG), Maryland

Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to support the Program Manager for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PM PNT). In this role, you will focus on the integration of tactical sub-systems into military platforms, particularly vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical engineering and experience working with C5ISR systems in a DoD environment. This role involves overseeing the installation, validation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software components, including GPS systems, antennas, and associated mounting hardware, to ensure seamless integration within the tactical vehicle platforms. You will work closely with internal teams, vendors, and subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and functionality of all integrated systems.

Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Support technical installations of classified and unclassified host platforms, including design reviews, troubleshooting, on-site assistance, and participation in technology demonstrations and experimentation of emerging PM PNT solutions.
  • Contribute to the systems engineering lifecycle by supporting integration reviews and providing input to key technical documents such as requirements, interface control documents (ICDs), hardware/software interface documents, engineering plans, training plans, and test plans.
  • Install and integrate Government-furnished prefabricated kits, including displays, mounts, brackets, GPS antennas, and installation software—onto host platforms; support integration of dismounted PNT systems (hardware and software) for testing and fielding.
  • Work closely with platform integration subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure seamless installation, integration, and compatibility of all hardware and software components.
  • Conduct validation and verification of hardware and software functionality on host platforms; support laboratory and field testing to ensure system performance and readiness.
  • Provide familiarization training and technical assistance to platform users and integrators regarding installed products and systems.
  • Participate in PM PNT program reviews (SPR, SSR, SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, PRR, FCA, and PCA), as well as pre-/post-review sessions, integrated product teams (IPTs), and working groups; provide informed recommendations for system integration, engineering improvements, and testing.
  • Review, update, and release Technical Data Packages (TDPs) to OEM vendors for the production of installation kits, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design and functional specifications.
  • Assist with logistics planning and execution and contribute to maintenance strategy development for integrated systems.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to decompose system-level requirements into sub-system performance specifications, including the development and interpretation of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), hardware/software interface definitions, and technical data packages (TDPs).
  • Familiar with entry/exit criteria for system engineering processes, and capable of establishing criteria for each stage of a product's lifecycle in accordance with DoD acquisition frameworks and Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
  • Experienced in the integration of mission equipment packages into tactical vehicles, including C5ISR hardware/software, and the associated testing processes required to ensure system interoperability with existing vehicle platforms and subcomponents.
  • Proficient in Agile System Development and Rapid Prototyping, supporting iterative testing and refinement of integrated capabilities across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Information Assurance (IA), and Program Protection processes to ensure security compliance and data integrity across systems.
  • Strong understanding of Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) and their application to system development milestones and technical risk assessments.
  • Possess technical knowledge to support test planning and execution, including the development, review, and conduct of test plans, operational test events, system validation, and verification in lab and field environments.
  • Experienced with System-of-Systems (SoS) architectures and systems integration, including supporting configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of multiple hardware/software elements functioning together.
  • Proficient with 3D CAD modeling software packages (e.g., PTC Creo), with the ability to review and manipulate models (PRT/ASM), 3D PDFs, and STP files; identify drawing errors; and validate coplanarity and fitment in preparation for vendor release.
  • Familiar with Army operator and maintainer manuals and capable of ensuring mounting, installation, and hardware configuration align with TACOM and platform-specific standards.
  • Capable of supporting integration efforts of prefabricated kits (displays, GPS antennas, mounts, brackets, cabling, etc.) into tactical vehicles and dismounted systems in support of fielding, testing, and demonstrations.
  • U.S Citizenship required

Nice to Have Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with CAD tools beyond Creo, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) integration and compatibility with GPS, antennas, and communication systems.
  • Experience with System of Systems (SoS) integration and testing in tactical environments.
  • Understanding of vehicle dynamics and how they impact system performance and integration.
  • Ability to use FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) or other risk assessment tools for system validation.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like MS Project or JIRA for tracking integration timelines and milestones.
  • Ability to create automated test scripts for hardware/software validation.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
