Role Summary:

The Head of the US Affiliate is a dynamic senior executive responsible for leading the strategic and operational growth of the US for Dyne’s portfolio, overseeing a high performing cross-functional team preparing for highly successful launches of Dyne products. This role is responsible for driving executional excellence and maximizing the value of Dyne products in the US market place. This role requires an astute leader with high business acumen, outstanding leadership, high adaptability, and who can drive to energize everyone they work with. The person in this role has a senior operational background and is capable of instilling a thriving inclusive culture. The Head of the US Affiliate will build a team to engage across the market with key stakeholders including PAGs, HCPs, HCOs, payers, policy makers, media to drive for success in the US.

This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being a remote role.


Primary Responsibilities Include:

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive integrated US business strategy for sustainable growth and value creation
  • Enable a clear vision for the US Affiliate, formulated and articulated with strategic thinking and aligned with corporate strategy
  • Make calculated decisions with future-proofing at the forefront, inviting innovative technology, enabling flexibility within the market dynamics
  • Play a pivotal role in driving future growth by achieving ambitious annual operating plans and identifying new opportunities
  • Create annual business plans aligned with overall goals
  • Deliver the strategic mission of the business through the executive and wider leadership team
  • Demonstrate resilient decision making, challenging the status quo where appropriate

Building a high performing patient serving organization 

  • Build and develop a high-performing cross functional team with high sense of accountability and a sense of urgency to bring innovation to patients  
  • Effectively communicate at all levels
  • Drive company growth, develop and expand opportunities, manage negotiations and improve relations with potential partners, key stakeholders, and customers across the country and channels
  • Spearhead the development and implementation of effective business strategies and processes
  • Develop and implement KPI’s to ensure excellence and speed in execution

Financial Performance

  • Full P&L accountability, managing all elements of financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and cost management – drive high level of profitability
  • Responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational efficiency, and financial performance of the US business
  • Lead and inspire your team to be frugal and cost conscious, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment

Culture Competence & Team Leadership

  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment that aligns with Dyne’s values
  • Improve Employee motivation, engagement and efficiency
  • Accelerate innovation through creative, lean thinking, to empower individuals to improve outcomes through continual and iterative progresses

Customer Centricity – Market Analysis & Digital Capability

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and driving differentiation
  • Work with the program teams and the global team to co-create strategy and to drive value creation
  • Embed digital first mindset along the employee journey and the value chain of our business – hire digitally savvy teams who share the vision to serve patients and to create unmatched customer experience
  • Implement patient-centric approaches, thinking outside the box utilizing the evolution of digital technologies

Strategic Collaboration 

  • Represent the Company as a key opinion leader for the NMD sector, enhancing the Company's reputation towards becoming the leader in NMD and drive for highly appreciated market presence
  • Seek out opportunities to create partnerships with world’s leading technology and healthcare organizations
  • Articulate a well-defined vision that serves to align and unify employees, investors, regulators, and other key stakeholders in a collective effort 

Education, Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in a senior-level role leading a major market
  • Degree in related field, ideally with an MBA or an advanced degree
  • Proven successful P&L management
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on analysis
  • Experienced and dedicated leader with a proven track record of successfully running a sustainable and high performing business (revenues, profit margins, market share, cash generation) against timeframes and budgets
  • A proactive, innovative mindset with a passion for driving business growth and operational excellence
  • Proven track record in launching successfully in the US, preferably in rare disease
  • Patient/Consumer/Customer Focus
  • Influential personality with the ability to simplify and clarify complex issues to broad and diverse audiences
  • High emotional intelligence and self-awareness
  • Lead with conviction, critical decision making and problem solving
  • A driver for growth and innovation, encourage creativity through ideation leading to innovation
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performing teams
  • Deep understanding of value & access, market structure, competitive landscape, industry trends, and regulatory environment in the US region
  • Outstanding and influential verbal and written communication skills - Effective communicator with the ability to build relationships with senior leaders and a complex set of partners including regulators, payers, investors and media
  • Agility and adaptability (stay at the cutting edge as a leader)
  • High integrity and a deep commitment to Dyne mission
  • Ability to see and demonstrate the value of being hands-on
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, leading by example
  • Ability to navigate and drive change in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Able to travel as required
