
Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy and Operations

Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Patient Advocacy & Operations advances Dyne Therapeutics’ mission by cultivating strategic partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and leading the operational execution of patient advocacy and corporate affairs initiatives. This role integrates closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure the patient voice meaningfully informs research, clinical development, and organizational priorities. The role is based in Waltham, MA and does not offer a remote option.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Executes patient advocacy strategies aligned with corporate and therapeutic objectives.
- Builds and sustains strong, strategic relationships with patient leaders, caregivers, and advocacy organizations.
- Leads planning, execution, and follow-up for Patient Community Advisory Panels and Boards.
- Conducts one-on-one engagements with advocacy leaders to identify unmet needs, insights, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Represents Dyne at patient advocacy events, advisory boards, and community forums.
- Collects, synthesizes, and disseminates patient community insights across internal teams.
- Supports clinical trial awareness and recruitment through patient-focused engagement initiatives.
- Collaborates with Medical Affairs, R&D, Marketing, Market Access/Patient Services, and Corporate Affairs to integrate patient perspectives into clinical development and commercialization activities.
- Identifies and coordinates patient and community participants for Dyne-led internal and external events.
- Serves as operational lead for Patient Advocacy Grants, Sponsorships & Donations, including budget oversight and end-to-end management of submissions, documentation, contracting, and payment workflows.
- Manages patient engagement–related contracts, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution.
- Leads operational processes for advancing patient advocacy materials through Medical Legal Review (MLR).
- Plans and executes patient advocacy organization engagement activities and conference participation, including event logistics, session development, patient-facing materials, and on-site execution.
- Supports enterprise-wide events that elevate patient community voices (e.g., advocacy walks) and participates on cross-functional planning teams.
- Travels domestically and overnight up to approximately 20% to support events and community engagement activities.
Education and Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 7+ years of related experience; backgrounds in social work, genetic counseling, nursing, or public health are preferred.

5+ years of experience in patient advocacy within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a clinical-stage organization.

Demonstrated experience developing and sustaining partnerships with patient advocacy organizations and community leaders.

Strong understanding of rare diseases, Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD), and the biopharma drug development lifecycle.

Proven experience supporting clinical trial awareness and recruitment initiatives through patient engagement.

Experience managing budgets, vendors, and compliance-sensitive partnerships in a regulated environment.

Strong operational, project management, and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to influence without authority and collaborate effectively across diverse, cross-functional teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with patient advocacy sponsorship and contracting processes.

Bilingual fluency in Spanish is a plus.
- Overnight travel will be required; up to 20%.

MA Pay Range
$143,000 - $180,000 USD
The pay range reflects the base pay range Dyne reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
