We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Business Development Officer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for driving new business growth by promoting and selling Eagle Business Credit's factoring and purchase order funding solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong sales background, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a proven ability to build referral networks and generate business opportunities independently.

As a key contributor to our revenue growth strategy, the Business Development Officer will develop and maintain referral relationships, identify and pursue new business opportunities, manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through funding, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients seeking working capital solutions.  Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth through the identification, development, and acquisition of new client relationships.
  • Generate business opportunities through networking, referral partner development, industry associations, trade shows, and outbound prospecting activities.
  • Build, maintain, and expand a strong referral network that consistently produces qualified leads.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, from initial outreach and qualification through proposal development, negotiation, closing, and funding.
  • Develop and execute an individual business development and marketing strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Maintain an active and healthy sales pipeline utilizing Salesforce CRM and provide accurate sales forecasting.
  • Meet or exceed individual sales goals related to client acquisition, funded deals, revenue growth, and conversion metrics.
  • Conduct preliminary financial and credit reviews, including analysis of accounts receivable and financial information.
  • Structure and negotiate pricing and deal terms in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, credit, operations, and leadership teams to facilitate efficient deal execution and client onboarding.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to increase market visibility and generate new referral relationships.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and market developments.
  • Participate in sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior business development team members by sharing market insights and best practices.
  • Travel as needed to support client development and business growth initiatives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful B2B sales experience, preferably within commercial finance, invoice factoring, asset-based lending, banking, or related financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in self-generating leads and building referral networks that result in consistent business growth.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals and revenue targets.
  • Experience managing complex sales opportunities and negotiating pricing, contract terms, or financial solutions.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, preferably Salesforce.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, accounts receivable, cash flow, and basic credit analysis.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
