Working in close partnership with the Director of Digital Development, Senior Marketing Manager, and cross-functional teams, this role synthesizes data from web, ecommerce, social, and CRM platforms to support accurate, actionable insights into audience behavior, marketing performance, search visibility, and content effectiveness.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical rigor alongside an understanding of digital experience design, accessibility best practices, and marketing optimization, and supports collaborative, data-informed decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own web analytics infrastructure, data quality, and reporting across GA4, GTM, Looker Studio, and related platforms.
  • Deliver dashboards, reports, and ad-hoc analyses that inform leadership, marketing, content, and product decisions.
  • Analyze user behavior, engagement, search, and conversion data to identify trends and opportunities.

  • Integrate and interpret data from Shopify, HubSpot, Meta, and other digital platforms to build a unified view of audience behavior, engagement, and conversion patterns and to track and report on KPIs.
  • Develop cross-platform reporting that links website activity to outcomes such as email engagement, membership interest, and ecommerce behavior.

Search & Social Performance

  • Monitor and optimize technical and content SEO performance using tools such as Google Search Console, SEMRush or Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify indexing issues, broken links, metadata gaps, and areas for improved internal linking or structured data.
  • Provide search-optimized recommendations for new content, features, and site architecture changes.
  • Track keyword performance and audience discovery patterns to inform content planning.
  • Evaluate emerging AI-powered search and discovery surfaces to recommend optimizations for structured, high-authority content visibility.
  • Monitor and analyze social referral traffic, platform performance, and content engagement to inform content and distribution strategy.

Site Performance & User Experience

  • Monitor site performance metrics (Core Web Vitals, page speed, mobile usability), collaborating with developers to address issues.
  • Evaluate user journey friction points and support A/B testing, UX refinements, and conversion optimization efforts.
  • Ensure analytics and tagging configurations accurately reflect user interactions and site features.

Technical & Operational Oversight

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for analytics-related systems and integrations, including GA4, GTM, search tools, Meta and other social platform pixels/conversion APIs, and CRM analytics connections.
  • Maintain documentation of analytics configurations, tagging standards, and reporting frameworks.
  • Collaborate with internal and external development partners to validate tracking on new pages, components, or features.
  • Stay updated on evolving analytics platforms, privacy standards, and measurement best practices.

Required education, skills, abilities and competencies:

  • 5+ years of experience in digital analytics or digital marketing performance, ideally with high-traffic websites.
  • Expertise with tools such as Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, Search Console, Looker Studio, and social platform analytics (e.g. Meta).
  • Strong understanding of search-optimization fundamentals, including site architecture, keyword research, technical search optimization, and structured content.
  • Ability to translate complex data into insights and recommendations easily understood by creative, technical, and leadership teams.
  • Experience synthesizing data across multiple digital platforms such as Shopify, HubSpot, Meta, and GA4.
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, conversion optimization concepts, and website performance metrics.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspect, validate, and troubleshoot basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in support of analytics tracking and implementation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area with ability to work on-site full time.
  • Experience working in museums, cultural institutions, or design-focused organizations a plus.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms such as Sanity, UX/UI principles, responsive frameworks, and content-related accessibility concepts.
  • Experience partnering with designers, engineers, product teams, or external agencies.
