Studio Lead
About Early Morning Studio
Early Morning Studio is a small, distributed game studio focused on high-quality, old-school RPGs that give players room to explore and discover things for themselves. Its first hit, Vampire’s Fall: Origins, has been played by more than 10 million players across Android, iOS, PC, Nintendo Switch and Xbox. The studio’s other games include Champions of Avan, Vendir: Plague of Lies and Sol Frontiers.
Overview
As Studio Lead, you’ll take responsibility for the business and day-to-day running of Early Morning Studio while working closely with the people making its games. Working with Atari’s leadership, you’ll act as the link between the studio and the wider business: championing the team’s work and creative direction, giving them the context they need and making sound decisions about performance and what comes next.
This is a hands-on role in a small, remote studio. You’ll own the P&L, understand how the games are performing, and work with the team on the roadmap and live operations. You’ll facilitate creative decisions and put practical processes in place that help the team make great games.
What You’ll Do
- Work alongside the team and Atari’s leadership so both sides understand each other’s priorities, and help everyone focus on what they do best.
- Own the studio P&L: revenue, margin, budget plus monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts.
- In collaboration with the team, own the product roadmap and KPIs; prioritise the backlog against LTV, retention and ARPDAU.
- Manage live ops: events, offers, economy tuning, A/B tests, monetisation and related marketing tactics, as well as grow revenue in ways that respect the player experience the studio is known for.
- Manage delivery milestones and release quality.
- Lead the remote team; retain and develop functional leads and own culture and accountability.
- Represent the studio to partners and platform holders.
- Coordinate with Atari’s UA, P&C, IT and legal teams where the studio has no dedicated staff.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 4+ years in mobile F2P games; 2–3 titles shipped from concept into live operations.
- Experience owning a P&L in a gaming or digital consumer business.
- Experience leading remote-first teams of at least four people.
- Proven post-launch impact on live-game performance.
- Strong data fluency: LTV, retention, ARPDAU and live-ops KPIs.
- Ability to work with creative teams and senior business stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of user acquisition and mobile F2P economics.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience as a founder, product manager, producer or studio lead in a small games team.
- Experience working across an independent studio and a larger publishing or group structure.
- Interest in emerging distribution channels for mobile games
