POSITION SUMMARY

We're on a mission to reinvent the financial system and make it work for people. We are looking for an experienced professional to lead a full-stack engineering team comprising backend and mobile engineers. As a hands-on Manager for one of our core services teams, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of some of our early-stage, innovative products. You will work with your cross-functional partners and team to shape the direction of these products and help make them significant drivers for the company. 

This position will be a hybrid role from our Bengaluru office, with 2 days a week in the office as part of our expanding site. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Be a strong partner to the product and other engineering teams, driving improvements in business metrics and building new features. Examples include improving user acquisition metrics, cross-selling and upselling products, and improving user experience.
  • Drive the design and implementation of new product areas and features. Break complex problems down to their bare essentials, translate that complexity into elegant design, and create high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Guide your team through ambiguity and ensure technical excellence through rapid experimentation cycles. 
  • Guide your team to strong execution—make pragmatic decisions, help them launch MVPs quickly, and iterate based on feedback.
  • Lead team through frequent pivots and evolving priorities in a fast-changing environment.
  • Recruit other great engineers for your team and support recruiting efforts across teams.
  • Be a mentor and coach for the engineers on your team. Help them advance their careers by enabling them to do the best work of their lives.
  • Manage cross-functional relationships with all teams to deliver high-quality products.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with 2+ years of experience leading a smaller team as a manager. 
  • You're just as energized diving into architecture, writing clean, scalable code, and solving challenging technical problems as you are mentoring engineers, shaping team culture, and driving delivery. You know when to roll up your sleeves and when to empower others—and you're equally excited to do both.
  • You can work comfortably with a cross-functional team of PMs, Analysts, and mobile and back-end-focused engineers.
  • You have led a team that consistently delivered high-quality output on critical infrastructure projects.
  • You are a creative, tenacious problem solver with a get-it-done attitude
  • You tend to be the standard bearer who takes a great deal of pride in your work and can inspire others to rise to the occasion
  • You can create and maintain a positive, healthy team environment in which everyone is supported, encouraged, and meaningfully challenged to do great work
  • Experience in fintech or payments is a plus.
  • Experience leading the design, implementation, and deployment of high-scale cross-functional payments systems.
  • Familiarity with payment processors or internal financial systems is a plus.
