Veterinary Laboratory Technician
EPVMC was founded on the belief that pets of the Lehigh Valley deserve access to advanced veterinary care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. What started as a commitment to emergency medicine has grown into a collaborative specialty hospital where doctors, technicians, assistants, and client care teams work together to support patients with complex medical needs.
As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our laboratory department and find a certified veterinary technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the critical role diagnostics play in patient care. The Laboratory Technician is responsible for running patient samples, maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting with reference laboratory submissions, and ensuring the lab operates smoothly throughout the day and into the night. This role works closely with doctors, technicians, assistants, and multiple departments to help provide timely diagnostics for critically ill and specialty patients.

- Maintain accuracy and efficiency while handling a high volume of patient samples
- Prepare and package samples for outside reference laboratories
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and handling of all laboratory submissions
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain laboratory records
- Troubleshoot and maintain laboratory analyzers and equipment
- Monitor reagent inventory and assist with laboratory supply management
- Communicate critical or abnormal results promptly to medical teams
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the laboratory
- Follow OSHA, biohazard, and hospital safety protocols
- Support workflow across emergency and specialty departments as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable, self-motivated, and adaptable mindset
- Previous veterinary, laboratory, or healthcare experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn
