Staff Frontend Engineer - Web Platform

Belgrade, Serbia

Easygo is an Australian technology powerhouse behind global brands Stake, KICK, and Twist Gaming. As we continue to build and scale our engineering presence in Belgrade, we’re looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to establish and lead our Web Platform function, shaping the foundations of frontend development across the organisation.

About the Team

This is a newly formed team, and you will be the first hire, helping build and shape the frontend platform that powers KICK’s web experience.

The team will own the core foundations that enable product teams to deliver high-quality, consistent user experiences, including:

  • Shared frontend architecture and frameworks
  • Design systems and component libraries
  • Performance optimisation and observability tooling
  • Frontend infrastructure and developer tooling

Across the organisation, frontend engineers are embedded in stream-aligned teams focused on delivering product features. As the organisation scales, there is a growing need for shared standards, tooling, and platform capabilities - this team is being formed to address that and enable teams to move faster, with more consistency and higher quality.

As the first person in this space, you will play a key role in shaping the team’s direction, setting initial standards, and driving alignment across the frontend ecosystem. Over time, you’ll help grow and evolve the team and its impact.

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced Staff Frontend Engineer who thrives in ambiguous, fast paced environments and is excited about building a platform function from the ground up.

You are someone who:

  • Thinks beyond individual features and focuses on systems, platforms, and enablement
  • Is comfortable operating as both a technical leader and a functional owner
  • Enjoys working across teams, influencing without authority, and driving alignment
  • Balances hands-on engineering with mentorship and strategic thinking

This role goes beyond coding - it requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and organisational impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and drive the frontend platform strategy, architecture, and long-term vision
  • Establish and evolve standards, patterns, and best practices for frontend development across teams
  • Act as the technical and functional leader for the frontend ecosystem across the organisation, shaping how frontend engineering is done at scale
  • Own and improve frontend developer experience (DX) across the organisation
  • Build and maintain shared libraries, design systems, and internal tooling
  • Partner with stream-aligned teams to understand needs, remove friction, and enable self-service capabilities
  • Improve frontend performance, quality, scalability, and accessibility
  • Ensure frontend systems are observable, reliable, and production-ready
  • Mentor and support engineers across teams through code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing
  • Influence and collaborate with engineering, product, and design stakeholders to align on priorities and direction
  • Lead complex, cross-team initiatives from problem definition through delivery and adoption
  • Communicate technical decisions, trade-offs, and progress clearly to stakeholders

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with strong frontend focus
  • Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, Svelte)
  • Proven experience building or contributing to frontend platforms, shared libraries, or tooling
  • Strong experience with monorepos (Turborepo, PNPM, Nx, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with frontend CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Vite/Webpack/Rollup)
  • Deep understanding of web performance, browser behaviour, and optimisation techniques
  • Experience working in multi-team environments requiring alignment and standardisation
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across teams
  • Ability to balance hands-on work with strategic leadership responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience setting up or leading a frontend platform or enablement function
  • Experience delivering and maintaining distributed systems at scale
