Installation Technician
Job Overview:
The Installation Technician performs all tasks under the direct supervision of a Lead Installation Technician or General Foreman and is primarily responsible for the accurate and efficient installation of simple to complex electronic systems.
Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

- Equipment Installation
- Through education and practice, develops an understanding of industry wiring and installation standards and practices.
- Installs system racks and perform on-site staging of equipment delivered.
- Properly labels equipment and field cabling in accordance with Technical Standards.
- Performs installation tasks such as cable placement and termination.
- Maintains a debris-free workspace.
- Customer Service
- Serves as the face of the organization to best represent the ECC brand and reputation; properly greets and interacts with customers in a courteous, respectful, and professional manner.
- Presents self in a professional manner and positively represents the company image.
- Internal Communication
- Utilizes Lead Tech as the primary communication conduit for technical questions, verifications, and issue reporting.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and within expected timeframes. This includes but may not be limited to As-Builts, and timekeeping.
- Recognizes change order opportunities and job-related issues.
- Be solution-focused by providing communication to Lead Tech with potential resolution.
- Technical Standards
- Ensures consistent adherence to company established technical service standards, thereby insuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintains proper tools, materials and test equipment to sustain the highest technical quality possible within the constraints of strong financial management.
- Maintains accurate on-site installation supplies and materials inventory levels to ensure adequate availability for installations.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Performs work in adherence to OSHA and company safety policies and procedures as they are introduced to the Company; promptly report unsafe work conditions to supervisor.
- Ensures proper PPE is worn based upon working conditions.

- Presents self in a professional manner and appropriately represent the Company image.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Ability
- Basic understanding of blueprints and drawings.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tool usage and safety.
- Basic understanding of mounting and rigging concepts.
- Understand installation methods that apply to plumb, level, and square.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Familiarity with programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook and CMR.
- Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively handle stressful situations.
- Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
- Must be solution-focused, forward-thinking and organized.
- Must be personable, and possess adequate communication, customer service and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal and external team members.
- Aptitude and desire to learn new technologies as they are introduced to the Company.

- Ability to work long hours, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the job.
Required Education and/or Work Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- OSHA 10 or achievement thereof within 90 days.
Motor Vehicle Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Proof of vehicle insurance is required for those who may drive a personal vehicle for business.
Physical Requirements

- Ability to communicate and interact verbally, both in person and over the phone.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

- Ability to travel overnight, up to 100% of the time.
- Ability to travel to work locations nationally and possibly internationally.
- Ability to use personal computers, basic scanning devices, smart phones and professional tablets effectively; aptitude to learn new technologies as they are introduced to the company.
- Visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
- Ability to climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, lift, push and/or pull, frequently.
- Ability perform activities such as operate power tools, equipment including lifts, scaffolding.
- Ability to work with hazards and a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, etc.
