Principal Analog and Mixed Signal Electrical Engineer
Advanced Technology Development

ROLE OVERVIEW

Echodyne is seeking a Principal Analog and Mixed-Signal Electrical Engineer to join the Advanced Technology Development team and lead new circuit architectures, signal-chain development, power solutions, and rapid hardware prototyping for future radar products.
You will join a high-performing, cross-disciplinary team where senior engineers have meaningful technical ownership, run fast experiments, and see their work move directly into future radar products. You will work on prototype development, including high-speed data acquisition, precision timing, compute interfaces, calibration hardware, and power entry and conditioning for a larger radar platform.
The ideal candidate combines strong hands-on analog and mixed-signal design depth with technical judgment, experimental discipline, and experience carrying hardware from architecture through characterization and product transition.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead analog, mixed-signal, timing, data-conversion, and power technology development for critical technologies and future Echodyne radar platforms
  • Turn emerging system needs into practical receiver interfaces, converter and clocking architectures, power circuits, prototypes, and validated reference designs
  • Design, simulate, build, bring up, and characterize prototype hardware to prove feasibility, expose limits, and reduce technical risk early
  • Collaborate with RF, FPGA, PCB design, systems, mechanical, manufacturing, and key stakeholders to deliver mission-critical hardware within challenging engineering constraints
  • Apply modern best-practices and establish practical guidance for reliability, design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), signal and power integrity, and testability
  • Provide Principal-level leadership through architecture and design reviews, mentoring, hands-on problem solving, lab investigation, and transition of proven capabilities into product development

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Strong hands-on experience in analog and mixed-signal circuit design across architecture, schematic design, simulation, layout support, prototype bring-up, characterization, and verification
  • Experience with low-noise receiver interfaces, analog-to-digital or digital-to-analog converters, down-conversion or intermediate-frequency circuits, timing, clock distribution, and frequency synthesizers
  • Broad knowledge of signal-chain analysis, noise, linearity, dynamic range, sampling, jitter, grounding, shielding, signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI or EMC
  • Experience with circuit modeling, SPICE simulation, design analysis, PCB implementation, laboratory instrumentation, data acquisition, and automated test
  • Experience with power architecture, regulators and converters, power entry and conditioning, protection, sequencing, or higher-power electronic subsystems
  • Ability to connect measured results to models, design decisions, operating limits, requirements, and technical risks
  • Experience in advanced development, applied research, rapid prototyping, or early hardware technology maturation
  • Competence with MATLAB, SPICE tools, Ansys Electronics Desktop, or equivalent analysis and simulation environments
  • Ability to communicate complex electrical recommendations clearly across engineering disciplines

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)

  • Experience developing hardware for radar, sensing, aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or other high-reliability and mission-critical products
  • Experience with FPGA or SoC hardware integration, high-speed serial interfaces, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or automated prototype characterization

QUALIFICATION

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field and at least 12 years of relevant electrical hardware development experience, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience
  • Eligibility to handle export-controlled technical data, including ITAR- and EAR-controlled information

Echodyne’s technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant’s eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations.  Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

An "active duty wartime or campaign badge veteran" means a veteran who served on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service during a war, or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge has been authorized under the laws administered by the Department of Defense.

An "Armed forces service medal veteran" means a veteran who, while serving on active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service, participated in a United States military operation for which an Armed Forces service medal was awarded pursuant to Executive Order 12985.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 07/31/2029

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
