Junior Desktop Support Engineer

The successful candidate will be part of our global Infrastructure and Technology Service team and based in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and usability of all office IT equipment, infrastructure, and facilities, with a focus on delivering exceptional service to our trading and back-office teams.

What You’ll Do

• Install, configure, and maintain workstations, peripheral devices, both Windows and Linux desktop software to ensure optimal performance and usability.
• Ensure seamless integration and connectivity of workstations with critical systems, including trading platforms, application servers, file servers, email servers, and administrative systems.
• Execute hardware additions, moves, and changes within trading workstation environments and back-office setups.
• Collaborate closely with the trading support team to address and resolve IT requests promptly.
• Monitor and maintain trader PCs to guarantee peak performance, ensuring hardware is current and capable of supporting demanding trading activities.
• Manage and organize all office IT equipment and maintain the IT storeroom to ensure it is clean, well-stocked, and orderly.
• Physically assist in moving and installing equipment; occasionally visit datacentre colocation when needed.
• Support the upkeep of office infrastructure and facilities, including lighting, furniture, and kitchen equipment, to maintain a productive and comfortable work environment.
• Coordinate with external vendors to manage service delivery and internal task completion efficiently.

What you offer

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in a desktop support or similar technical role.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office suite.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals with the ability to troubleshoot desktop connectivity issues.
• Hands-on expertise in PC hardware components, installation, and configuration.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results without close supervision.
• Proven ability to drive improvements and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to create and maintain Powershell/ Batch scripts is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and verbal.
