Position Overview:
The Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the full electrical system design of our automated kiosks, including microcontroller-based systems, digital circuits, sensors, and industrial control components. This role involves leading hardware design efforts from requirements gathering to prototyping, testing, and deployment, ensuring our kiosks meet performance, safety, and compliance standards. Experience with customer-facing kiosks, payment terminals, or interactive self-service systems is highly beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the electrical engineering design and development for customer-facing kiosks and embedded machine control systems.
· Define and refine technical requirements, architecture, and system specifications for kiosk automation.
· Design and test analog and digital circuits, ensuring high reliability and power efficiency.
· Oversee component selection, schematic capture, PCB layout, and prototyping.
· Develop and integrate custom electronics, I/O interfaces, and communication protocols (e.g., USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet, RS-232).
· Work with touchscreens, payment terminals, barcode scanners, and other customer-interaction hardware for kiosk applications.
· Troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues, optimizing performance for high-volume transactions.
· Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to refine kiosk designs for scalability and cost efficiency.
· Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for kiosk deployments.
Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
· 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on embedded hardware, kiosk design, or self-service systems.
· Expertise in microcontroller-based system design (ARM, PIC) and analog/digital circuit design.
· Hands-on experience with PCB layout, prototyping, and hardware debugging.
· Experience working with sensors, motors, actuators, and industrial control systems.
· Proficiency in soldering, wiring, and hardware integration.
· Strong understanding of hardware requirements documentation and system specifications.
Preferred:
· Prior experience designing customer-facing kiosks, interactive self-service terminals, or retail automation systems.
· Familiarity with PCI compliance, payment processing hardware, and security standards.
· Experience with high-speed design principles, FPGA development (Xilinx, Altera), and Altium Designer.
· Knowledge of power-efficient design for embedded systems and IoT devices.
· Experience integrating machine learning and AI-driven diagnostics into kiosk hardware.

Pay Range (How much might you earn in your base salary?)
$130,000 - $156,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per CA SB 1162 (“CA Pay Transparency Law”). Base pay information is based on market location. Learn more about ecoATM benefits here.
This position may also be eligible for short-term and long-term incentives based on individual and company performance.
