Staff Accountant
As a Staff Accountant on the Accounting team, you’ll be responsible for analyzing and recording financial transactions and completing financial controls such as balance sheet reconciliations and month-over-month variance explanations. We are looking for a team player who is detail oriented with strong analytical and interpersonal skills to help us maintain timely and accurate financials. Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end close process for revenue and related assigned areas to ensure they are recorded accurately, timely, and in accordance with internal policies
- Support the monthly & quarterly close processes for revenue, accounts receivable, & unbilled AR
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analysis
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly/quarterly close
- Continuously improve and refine existing processes and procedures to increase efficiency and accuracy of team deliverables
- Ensure compliance of financial reporting, internal controls, and maintain proper SOX documentations
- Provide various schedules, analysis, and variance trend analysis as required
- Perform ad-hoc/special projects as required
Job Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required.
- CPA or candidate preferred
- 2+ years of accounting work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
- Analytical skills including ability to review large amounts of data
- Understanding of revenue cycle systems and operations
- Exceptional organization and time-management skills
- Experience in, or exposure to, subsystems such as Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics
- Must be comfortable independently evaluating a situation, exercising judgment, and independently making decisions.
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is below. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
Pay Range
$60,700 - $81,000 USD
