Entry Level Environmental Specialist
EDGE is seeking an Early Career Environmental Engineer or Scientist to assist our internationally recognized Management of Contaminated Sites (MCS) Practice. This practice provides multi-media support to manage our clients’ liabilities related to the current and past release of chemicals in the environment. The job opening provides an excellent opportunity to join a growing, dynamic environmental engineering and science consulting firm in our Houston, Texas office. The successful candidate will work with industry recognized experts in the areas of site assessment, risk assessment, and risk management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, surface water, and dust sampling
- Collect, organize, and manage large volumes of client data and documentation
- Assist in conducting statistical analysis of data
- Assist in the development and application of software to calculate risk to human health and the environment
- Support the preparation and submission of reports to our clients and regulators
- Provide technical support on a variety of projects including litigation support. Such projects require review and assimilation of multiple papers and publications
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s or PhD in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Experience collecting, handling, and documenting environmental samples
- Demonstrated experience or course work related to quantitative evaluation of pump test data, slug tests, and LNAPL transmissivity
- Demonstrated experience or course work in fate and transport modeling, toxicology, and statistical analysis
- Experience with fate and transport models, data visualization software, environmental data bases and GIS
- Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with the use of MS Office Suite software programs is necessary; advanced Microsoft Excel skills a plus
- Ability to travel to client sites (approximately 20% of the time)
- Self-motivated, quick learning, flexible individuals who have a common-sense approach to conducting business and workload management will be most successful
