Senior Managing Consultant – Management of Contaminated Sites
Senior Managing Consultant – Management of Contaminated Sites
About EDGE
Edge Engineering and Science, LLC (EDGE) is an employee-focused environmental consulting firm providing technical, regulatory, and strategic services to clients across a range of industries. We help clients understand and cost-effectively manage past and on-going environmental liabilities.
We are looking for an experienced Management of Contaminated Sites practitioner to join our Cincinnati office and help enhance this service line and complement our presence in the Midwest.
This is an opportunity for a proven seller-doer—someone who enjoys both developing client relationships and leading the technical execution of projects. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of environmental consulting experience, a strong understanding of contaminated site investigation and remediation practices, and a demonstrated ability to generate new business and expand existing client relationships.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Managing Consultant – Management of Contaminated Sites, you will play a key role in building EDGE's contaminated sites practice in the Midwest and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
You will have the autonomy and responsibility to:
- Develop and maintain relationships with industrial, commercial, and institutional clients.
- Identify opportunities to help clients address environmental liabilities and regulatory requirements.
- Generate new business through existing relationships, networking, proposal development, and direct business development.
- Lead and manage contaminated site investigation, remediation, and environmental liability projects.
- Serve as a senior technical and strategic advisor to clients.
- Develop scopes of work, budgets, and proposals and negotiate project terms.
- Manage project teams, subcontractors, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
- Mentor and develop less-experienced professionals.
- Collaborate with EDGE's other technical and service-line leaders to identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Help shape and grow EDGE's contaminated sites capabilities and market presence in the Midwest.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have:
- 10+ years of environmental consulting experience, preferably with significant experience in contaminated site management.
- Demonstrated experience with site investigation, remediation, environmental due diligence, corrective action, or related environmental liability management.
- A strong understanding of federal and state environmental regulations applicable to contaminated sites.
- A demonstrated track record of business development and client relationship management.
- Experience developing proposals, scopes, budgets, and client presentations.
- Strong project management and financial management skills.
- The ability to communicate complex environmental issues clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary project teams.
- A practical, business-oriented approach to solving client problems.
- A strong professional network and established relationships within the environmental consulting or industrial marketplace are highly desirable.
- Professional licensure or certification (PE, PG, CHMM, etc.) is a plus.
The EDGE Seller-Doer
This role is not intended to be purely a project-management, technical or marketing position.
We're looking for someone who has a combination of these skills and wants to build on our past success.
If you have built a book of business, managed significant client relationships, or have a strong network of clients and referral sources, we want to talk with you.
Why EDGE?

This position offers the opportunity to:
- Help build a growing regional practice.
- Work directly with senior leadership and major clients.
- Have meaningful influence over the direction of the business.
- Develop and mentor a team.
- Pursue the types of clients and projects where you can create the greatest value.
- Participate in the growth of EDGE's broader environmental consulting platform.
