JOB OVERVIEW:
At EPIC, we see design as an integral part of brand storytelling that engages, informs, and inspires. We are looking for a highly creative Brand Designer who can take conceptual ideas and create visual representations, both in print and digital media. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and launching a wide range of compelling creative projects from integrated marketing campaigns, digital and print collateral, event materials, and interactive digital experiences to drive revenue. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project. Collaborating with Senior Management, design team members and others within our company, the designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects If you think you have what it takes to bring ideas to life with visual impact, we want to hear from you!
LOCATION: Hybrid - This role will work 3 days a week out of our San Ramon, CA office.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Graphic designers with in-house experience creating corporate collateral, such as PowerPoint presentations (templates), visuals, infographics, social media graphics, emails, templates, and more. Experience with both digital and print design, and experience as in-house graphic designer, is preferred.
- Required: Strong PowerPoint expertise, especially when it comes to designing PowerPoint presentation templates.
- Required: Proficiency in Adobe Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Team player eager to take their creative skills and focus purely on designing visuals, and bringing consistency to templates, fonts, colors, and the overall brand!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Objectives of this Role
- Work on a wide range of print and digital projects and media, using various computer software (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
- Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, execute project objectives accurately, and represent the company or client appropriately
- Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the marketing team, meeting deadlines, and scheduling project implementation based on workload, which may include five or more simultaneous projects
- Examine existing processes, identify flaws and create solutions to improve design capabilities
- Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video
Responsibilities
- Lead design projects from conception to completion, managing comprehensive design briefs and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
- Create and produce a wide range of high-quality visual content, including print materials, website designs, and social media graphics
- Ensure all visual content is consistent with brand identity and messaging, resonating well with the target audience
- Effectively deliver feedback with agency partners to accurately represent brand vision
- Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, incorporating these insights into design work
- Present design work to clients and stakeholders, providing thoughtful guidance and feedback
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communications, or similar discipline
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- 2+ years' experience (academic and professional) with a strong portfolio demonstrating versatility and creativity, preferably with experience working on in-house creative team
- Experience with both digital and print design
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software
- Experience with Microsoft Suite Office 365
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and creating PowerPoint templates
- Strong understanding of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years in professional graphic design
- Knowledge of UX/UI design principles
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and responsive design
- Desire to continue to grow skill set with ongoing education and training
- Travel is required, 15% of the time
COMPENSATION:
The national average salary for this role is $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
