Machine Learning Engineer

This is a remote role.

The Role

A Machine Learning Engineer at EDO is part of the Data Science team and focuses on production deployment/maintenance of internal data and modeling products. ML Engineers harden proof-of-concept and exploratory code into reliable components of EDO’s production systems. The role requires planning and architecture skills along with solid engineering experience and intuition to build maintainable and extensible modeling pipelines. 

What You Will Do

  • Migrate components of our existing modeling frameworks from batch-oriented to continuous training and monitoring.
  • Diagnose issues with legacy models and pipelines and decide what to maintain as-is, what to rebuild, and what to replace with alternatives.
  • Expand our collection of internal modeling building blocks. 
  • Lead large, high-priority, cross-functional, strategic projects, driving multiple decisions that have significant impact. 

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience with MLOps, especially with continuous model training and monitoring.
  • 4-6 years of overall development experience
  • 3+ years of Python experience writing clean, reusable code used by Data Scientists or deployed in production systems.
  • Proficiency with analytic queries in SQL and relational databases (we primarily use Snowflake), with experience interfacing directly with databases from Python (we leverage SQLAlchemy Core heavily).
  • Expert level experience  with a variety of modeling techniques, preferably both more traditional methods like GBMs and regressions plus some experience with deep neural networks.

In compliance with New York and California Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for this position is $130,000 - 180,000. We note the salary information as a general guideline only, as actual compensation may vary from posting. We will consider various factors to determine the offer for this role, including the scope and responsibilities of the position, relevant work experience, key skills, training, and business considerations.
