About the Role
ESS is a national leader in school-based mental health services, supporting 6,000+ students across 12 states. We bring the level of care found in private practice settings directly into public schools.
The Lead Clinician will provide weekly therapy to students at Atlantic Community Charter School (Galloway, NJ) as part of our Tier 2 Clinic Model, serving students with mild to moderate mental-health needs typically managed in an outpatient setting. Clinicians receive comprehensive training and ongoing support from our experienced clinical management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of 20–30 students within the school.
 
- Conduct assessments and provide individual and family therapy.
 
- Diagnose students for insurance billing and complete all required documentation.
 
- Deliver evidence-based interventions that support emotional and academic stability.
 
- Collaborate with school teams and refer students to appropriate levels of care as needed.
 
- Participate in team meetings and training to advance clinical practice.
 
Qualifications
- Master’s degree and full independent license (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT) in New Jersey.
 
- 3+ years’ experience working with children or adolescents with emotional/behavioral challenges.
 
- Experience in trauma-attuned modalities and outpatient settings preferred.
 
- Familiarity with school systems and insurance billing (NPI and CAQH required or willing to obtain).
 
- Strong clinical documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
