Senior Data Architect
Position Summary
The Senior Data Architect focuses on designing the blueprint of the entire data management framework. This includes setting the vision, policies, practices, and standards that govern the collection, storage, arrangement, and use of data across an organization. Data Architects ensure that the data systems are scalable, interoperable, and manageable.
Data Architects design. This involves constructing data pipelines that transform and transport data from various sources so that it can be used by Data Analysts and Data Scientists efficiently and effectively.
A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Data Architect
As a Senior Data Architect, you'll lead the strategic design of enterprise-scale data ecosystems that power critical business intelligence and advanced analytics initiatives. Your role involves architecting complex, multi-platform solutions using cutting-edge technologies like distributed SQL/NoSQL systems, Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), and sophisticated cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
You'll provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams, mentoring junior architects while collaborating with executive stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives. Your expertise drives the implementation of comprehensive data governance frameworks, ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and industry-specific requirements.
Using advanced data modeling methodologies and enterprise integration patterns, you'll architect everything from real-time streaming platforms to massive data lakes, always optimizing for performance, scalability, and security at enterprise scale. Your strategic decisions shape how the organization leverages emerging technologies and data-driven insights to maintain competitive advantage and drive innovation across all business units.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and create the overall data architecture (databases, large scale processing systems).
- Define how data will be stored, consumed, integrated, and managed by different data entities and IT systems.
- Ensure the data strategies and architectures are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work with business executives to ensure the data architecture aligns with business requirements.
- **Data volumes. Ensure that data flows efficiently through the pipelines, making it usable for further analysis and reporting.
- Implement, maintain, and update data management tools and systems.
- Optimize data retrieval, develop dashboards, reports and perform database maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, helping to ensure that the organization's data infrastructure meets the requirements of complex data analytics.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the data architect field.

- Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
- Familiarity with various database technologies like SQL, NoSQL, Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark), and cloud services (AWS, Azure).
- Expertise in data modeling and design tools.
- Deep knowledge of database design and structures, data modeling, and data warehousing.
- Expertise in data management technologies and a broad understanding of big data solutions.
- Familiarity with tools and languages like SQL, UML (Unified Modeling Language), XML, and enterprise architecture frameworks.

Salary Range for this position: $158,000-189,000
