Position Overview:
The Delivery Operations Manager serves as the operational leader for Effectual’s delivery teams, acting as the connection between engineering, resource management, HR, and client delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring the team is structured, staffed, enabled, and operating effectively to meet current and future client demand. While not responsible for hands-on technical delivery, this individual brings a strong understanding of software engineering environments and is accountable for team readiness, operational execution, and delivery alignment. This role functions with a focus on team operations, workforce planning, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the day-to-day operational management of engineering and delivery teams, ensuring alignment with business and client needs
- Serve as the primary escalation point for team-level issues, delivery coordination challenges, and operational blockers
- Partner with Leadership to maintain team structure, role clarity, and effective span of control across the organization
- Work closely with Resource Management (RMO) to manage staffing, bench utilization, and alignment of resources to active and upcoming projects
- Collaborate with HR and Recruiting to identify hiring needs, support interviews, and ensure timely fulfillment of open roles
- Coordinate onboarding of new hires, ensuring they are effectively integrated and ready for client delivery
- Drive team readiness by identifying skill gaps and coordinating training or enablement efforts aligned to upcoming work
- Maintain visibility into team capacity, project demand, and pipeline to proactively plan for future needs
- Support delivery execution by ensuring teams are properly staffed, aligned, and operating efficiently across engagements
- Facilitate communication across Engineering, HR, RMO, and leadership to ensure alignment and rapid issue resolution
- Monitor operational health of the team, identifying risks, inefficiencies, or gaps and taking action to address them
- Continuously improve operational processes, workflows, and coordination across the delivery organization
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in engineering operations, delivery management, or similar roles within a technology or consulting environment
- Strong understanding of software engineering, cloud, or technical delivery teams
- Prior experience working in or closely supporting engineering or DevOps teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage team operations, staffing coordination, and cross-functional execution
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior hands-on experience in an engineering, DevOps, or cloud-focused role
- Experience in a professional services or consulting environment
- Familiarity with AWS or cloud-native delivery models
- Experience working with resource management and workforce planning functions
- Experience supporting onboarding, training, or team enablement initiatives
Salary Range for this position: $130,000-$150,000

Travel Requirements:
The travel requirements for this position may vary depending on our needs. You should be prepared to travel domestically as necessary. Travel frequency and duration will be communicated in advance to allow for proper planning and coordination. Typically, travel may include attending conferences, training sessions, and other business-related events. The ability to travel is essential for fulfilling the responsibilities of this role and supporting our organization's goals and objectives.
