Position Summary

Effectual Program Managers are members of the Project Management Office within Effectual Professional Services (PS) organization. They are responsible for ensuring that Effectual’s customers receive exceptional service that leverages the full breadth of Effectual’s experience, expertise, and execution capabilities. Program Managers oversee all delivery activities for their assigned engagements across the full portfolio of offerings Effectual provides and are accountable for driving successful project outcomes on time and within budget. They develop strong working relationships with customers and collaborate with Account Executives, Solution Architects, and senior members of Effectual’s PS organization to deliver consistent, high-quality results. You are a “Brand Ambassador” and are expected to advocate for achieving our customer’s defined outcomes through the delivery of our services. Additionally, you will mentor other Project Managers within the organization and provide guidance and direction in developing Intellectual Capital to ensure a repeatable process.

A Glimpse into the Daily Routine of a Senior Program Manager

Each day, a Program Manager navigates between high-level strategy and hands-on execution, ensuring complex programs align with business objectives. They engage regularly with executive stakeholders to provide updates, resolve challenges, and secure the resources needed to keep initiatives moving forward. Simultaneously, they oversee budgets, manage risk, and lead cross-functional teams through transformational change with clear communication and strong leadership. Their role is pivotal in turning strategic vision into measurable results while cultivating a culture of collaboration and accountability.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring Customer Retention Through Exceptional Delivery Quality and Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for complex and high-impact programs, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and priorities.
  • Champion Effectual's Delivery Framework through Scrum or hybrid practices, facilitating collaboration with project resources, partner teams, and customer stakeholders to monitor progress, remove obstacles, and drive accountability.
  • Coordinating staffing of customer workstreams and serve as the escalation point for risk management and mitigation of customer concerns

Furthering Effectual’s Relationship with Assigned Customers

  • Cultivating productive, trusted relationships with key customer executives and stakeholders
  • Understand customer business priorities and objectives, and ensure that Effectual's work is focused on delivering value, driving outcomes, and supporting strategic goals

Establishing and Maintaining Excellent Executive Level Relationships

  • Engage executive stakeholders with regular program updates, addressing concerns and securing necessary support and resources.
  • Translate objectives and requirements into actionable project plans and deliverables.
  • Communicate and negotiate timeline adjustments, prepare and deliver change orders, and conduct weekly status meetings and reports.
  • Research and respond to client inquiries, including technical and billing questions, in a timely manner.
  • Foster long-term client partnerships, identifying opportunities for repeat business and referrals.

Establishing and Maintaining Rigorous Project Governance and Execution

  • Assess customer governance and cloud maturity; develop tailored communication and governance plans.
  • Allocate, schedule, and manage project resources, resolving conflicts as needed.
  • Hold team members accountable to task and timeline commitments; ensure timely and accurate time entry, review, and approval.
  • Manage program resources and budgets, optimizing allocation to maximize efficiency and ROI while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor project financials against forecasts, flagging risks to timeline, budget, or scope to PS leadership and Account Executives promptly.
  • Prepare level-of-effort (LOE) and duration estimates for leadership review and cost estimation.
  • Identify and assess program risks and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to ensure program success.

Supporting Project Delivery Team Members

  • Facilitate stakeholder meetings, gather client-requested information, and clarify deliverables and definitions of done.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced Effectual PMs to strengthen delivery, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Partnership with Account Executives

  • Include Account Executives in key project milestones (e.g., kickoff, close-out) and communicate potential opportunities for follow-on work.

Maintaining Relationships with Third-Party Vendors and Partners

  • Maintain open, proactive communication with partner and client delivery teams to ensure seamless engagement delivery.

Leading Change Management & Transformation

  • Lead change management efforts, ensuring effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and organizational readiness for transformation initiatives.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a collaborative environment, providing mentorship, and facilitating lessons learned sessions to continuously improve project management practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 or more years of experience working with AWS Cloud or other major cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP
  • Minimum of 7 or more years of experience as a Program Manager or similar role within a professional services organization focused on IT Consulting or IT Services
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in professional services
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite tools
  • PMI PMP Certified and in Good Standing
  • Certified Scrum Master in Good Standing

Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience

  • AWS Cloud Practitioner (CCP) Certified

Location: Remote

Salary Range for this position: $160,000–$210,000
